1. INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing the Roscoe Medical Mini Compressor Nebulizer. It is a
compact medical device des igned to efficient l y deliver ph ys ician presc ribe d
medication to the bronchial lung passages and is intended for home health care
use. With proper care and use, it will provide you with many years of reliable
treatment.

This product is developed for the successful treatment of asthma, allergies and
other respiratory disorders. It creates a stream of air that travels through a clear
tube to the nebulizer. When air enters the nebulizer, it will convert the presc r ibed
medication into an aerosol mist for easy inhalation.

Your compressor nebulizer should be used under the supervision of a licensed
physician and/or a respiratory therapist. We encourage you to thoroughly read

this guidebook to learn about the features of this product. Any use of this product
other than its intended use should always be avoided.

The following basic precautions are neede d wh en usin g an elec tric al prod uc t:
CAUTION: Failure to read and observe all precautions could result in personal

injury or equipment damage.

PRODUCT CAUTIONS:

1. WARNING IF ANY OF THE MOTOR HOUSING PARTS SHOULD

BECOME DETACHED OR BROKEN, EXPOSING THE MOTOR OR
ANY OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS, OPERATION SHOULD
BE DISCONTINUED IMMEDIATELY TO AVOID PERSONAL INJURY
OR FURTHER PRODUCT DAMAGE.

2. To avoid electrical shock: Keep the unit away from water•Do not immerse the
power cord or the unit in liquid•Do not use while bathing•Do not reach for a
unit that has fallen into water – immediately unplug the unit.

3. Never operate the unit if it has any damaged parts (including power cord), if it
has been dropped or submersed in water. Promptly send it to a service
center for examination and repair.

4. The unit should not be used where flammable gas, oxygen or aerosol spray
products are being used.

5. Disconnect the unit from the electrical outlet before cleaning, filling and after
each use.

6. Do not use other attachments unless recommended by manufacturer.

OPERATING CAUTIONS:

1. Connect this product to an appropriate voltage outlet for your model. Do not
use with power strips or extension cords.

2. Do not run this product unattended.

3. Never operate if this unit has a damaged cord or plug, if it has been dropped,
or in any way, into water, if it does not work properly. Return it to a service
center for repair.

4. If any abnormality occurs, discontinue use immediately until the unit has
been examined and repaired.

5. Always unplug the product immediately after use.

6. Never allow the power supply cord to be pulled, jerked, strained, twisted or
severely bent, especially at the plug connections. Damage will occur at the
high flex point of entry into the appliance, causing it to rupture and short.
Handle the cord carefully for longer life.

7. Never block the air openings of the main unit or place it where the air
openings may be obstructed.

STORAGE CAUTIONS:

1. Do not store the unit under direct sunlight, high temperature or humidity.

2. Keep the unit out of reach of small children.

3. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. Do not wrap the cord around
the appliance.

4. Always keep the unit unplugged while not in use.

CLEANING CAUTIONS:

1. Do not immerse the unit in water. It may damage the unit.

2. Disconnect the unit from the electrical outlet before cleaning.

3. Clean all necessary parts after each use as instructed in this guidebook.

4. OPERATING YOUR COMPRESSOR NEBULIZER

Note: Prior to initial operation, the nebulizer should be thoroughly cleaned.

1. Place your Compressor Nebulizer on a flat and stable surface. Be sure that
you can easily reach the controls when you are seated.

2. Get accessories ready.
Important: Prior to initial operation, the nebulizer should be thoroughly
cleaned referring to the “Cleaning Procedures” in the manual.

3. Gently twist the top part of the nebulizer counter-clockwise to disassemble
the nebulizer.

4. Fill the bottom section of the nebulizer
with the medication prescribed by your
physician. Be sure that the cone is put Place cone inside
inside the bottom section.

5. Gently twist the top part clockwise to
re-assemble the nebulizer. Be sure the two sections fit well.

6. Attach one end of air tube to the base of the nebulizer.

7. Attach the other end of air tube to the air tube connector located on the back
of the compressor.

8. Attach mouth piece to the top section of nebulizer.

9. Plug the power cord into an appropriate electrical outlet. Make sure at this
stage, the power switch is at “OFF” status.

10. Press power switch to begin your prescribed treatment.

Important:

The compressor motor has a thermal protector which will shut off the unit
before the unit is overheated. When the thermal protector shuts the unit off,
please:

a. Switch off the unit.
b. Unplug the unit from the electrical outlet.
c. Wait 40 minutes for the motor to cool down before another treatment.

Make sure the air openings are not obstructed.

11. When treatment is finished, shut off the unit and unplug it from the electrical
outlet.

5. CLEANING

It is recommended that the nebulizer and mouthpiece are thoroughly cleaned
with hot water after each use and cleaned with a mild detergent after the last
treatment of the day. If your physician or respiratory therapist specifies a different
cleaning procedure, follow their instructions.

Rinsing (after each treatment)

1. Disconnect the air tube , nebul i zer, and mouthpiece.

2. Gently twist the nebulizer to open it.

3. Rinse the nebulizer and mouthp iec e with water.

4. Dry them with clean soft towel or let it air dry.

5. Reassemble the nebulizer when completely dry and put these parts in a dry,
sealed container.

Disinfections:

Please follow the following steps to disinfect your nebulizer unless otherwise
specified by your physician. It is suggested that the unit is disinfected after the
last treatment of the day.

1. Use one part white vinegar with three parts distilled water. Make sure mixed
solution is enough to submerge the nebulizer, mouthpiece.

2. Complete Rinsing Steps 1-3.

3. Wash the nebu l izer, mouthpiece in warm water and a m ild detergent. Then
wash them in hot tap water.

4. Submerge these parts in the vinegar and water solution for thirty minutes.

5. Complete Rinsing Steps 3-5.

Cleaning the compressor

1. Wipe daily with a damp cloth.

2. Do not use any powdered cleaners or soap pads, which may damage the
finish.

Filter change

1. Do not use cotton or any other materials. Do not wash or clean the filter . Only
use filters supplied by your distrib utor. And do not operate without a filter.

2. Change the filter every 30 days or when the filter turns gray.

3. Changing procedure:

a. Remove the filter cover.
b. Replace the used filter with a new one.
c. Replace the filter cover .

or normal wear and tear. The warranty does not extend to nondurable
components, which are subject to normal wear and need periodic replacement.

This warranty shall not apply to serial numbered products if the serial number has
been removed or defaced, or to defects or damages caused by unauthorized
parts, attachments or repairs, neg ligence, accident, or any c ircum stance beyond
Roscoe Medical’s control, such as improper operation, maintenance or storage.

1. INTRODUCCIÓN

Gracias por comprar el Minicompresor Nebulizador Roscoe Medical. Es un
aparato médico compacto que se diseñó para llevar con eficiencia el
medicamento prescrito por el médico a los conductos bronquiales y pulmonares
y su uso es para cuidado en casa. Con el cuidado y uso adecuados, le
proporcionará muchos años de tratamiento confiable.

Este producto se desarrolló para el tratamiento exitoso del asma, alergias y otros
trastornos respiratorios. Crea una corriente de aire que viaja por una sonda
transparente hasta el nebulizador. Cuando el aire entra en el nebulizador,

2. Nunca opere la unidad si tiene daños en alguna de sus partes (incluido el

7. Nunca bloquee los respiraderos de la unidad principal; tampoco debe

4. FUNCIONAMIENTO DE SU COMPRESOR NEBULIZADOR

4. Gire con suavidad la parte superior del nebulizador en sentido contrario

5. LIMPIEZA

procedimiento de limpieza diferente, siga sus instrucciones.

1. Desconecte el tubo de aire, el nebulizador y la boquilla.

2. Gire con suavidad el nebulizador para abrirlo.

3. Enjuague con agua el nebuli zad or y la boquill a.

4. Séquelos con una toalla limpia y suave o déjelos secar al aire.

5. Vuelva a armar el nebulizador cuando esté completamente seco y guarde
estas partes en un receptáculo seco de cierre hermético.

Desinfecciones:

Siga estos pasos para desinfectar su nebulizador, a menos que su médico
especifique otra cosa. Se sugiere desinfectar la unidad después del último
tratamiento del día.

1. Prepare una solución con una parte de vinagre blanco y tres partes de agua
destilada. Asegúrese de que la solución mezclada sea suficiente para
sumergir el nebulizador y la boquilla.

2. Siga los pasos 1-3 para realizar el enjuague.

3. Lave el nebulizador y la boquilla en agua tibia con un detergente suave.
Luego, lávelos en agua caliente del grifo.

minutos.

Limpieza del compresor

Cambio de filtros

1. No use algodón ni ningún otro material. No lave ni limpie el filtro. Use sólo
filtros proporcionados por su distribuidor . No ponga a funcionar el aparato sin
filtro.

2. Cambie el filtro cada 30 días o cuando el filtro se vuelva gris.

3. Procedimiento para cambiar el filtro:

a. Quite la tapa del filtro.
b. Cambie el filtro usado por uno nuevo.
c. Vuelva a poner la tapa del filtro.
