ELECTRICAL SUPPLY
l
An adequate electrical supply outlet or junction box
must be provided to operate your range. Be sure to
check with the local utilities for all governing electrical
codes. In the absence of local codes, the National Electrical Code ANWNFPA No. 70-l 978 must be followed.
A copy can be obtained by writing:
National Fire Protection Association
470 Atlantic Ave.
Boston, Mass. 02210
.
It is advised that all electrical wiring and the range hook up
be done by a competent electrician. After installation, have
the installer show you where the main range disconnect is
located.
l
The electrical supply for your range must be a threewire, single phase, A.C. 120/240 volt, 60 hertz system.
DO NOT USE ALUMINUM WIRE.
It must be fused to
meet the requirements of ANSVNFPA No. 70- 1978 and
all local codes. Failure to wire your range according to
governing codes could result in a hazardous condition.
l Connections between the range and junction box or supply
outlet can be made with either a three-wire range cord
(U.L. listed) or with wires enclosed in a flexible conduit.
l In the absence of any local codes, it is recommended that a
minimum wire size of No. 8 wire with a 75O C rating be used
and protected with 40 amp fuse or circuit breaker.
