PAINTED SADDLE with U-BOLT
Not recommended for PVC pipe.
MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS
SADDLE CASTINGS: Ductile iron per ASTM A 536, grade 65-45-12, protected with corrosion-resistant paint.
U-BOLT, AND NUTS: Sizes 1-1/2” through 3”, use 1/2” U bolt with heavy hex nuts and 1/2” at washers, 4” and
above use 5/8” U bolt with heavy hex nut and 5/8” at washers. All sizes are national coarse roll threaded. Steel
meets AISI C1018 and is electro-galvanized, optional 316 stainless steel also available.
GASKETS: NBR per ASTM MBC 610, compounded for water and sewer service. NSF61 Certied.
Other compounds available on request.
PAINTED SADDLE w/ STAINLESS STEEL STRAP
Recommended for PVC, asbestos-cement, cast iron and steel pipe.
MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS
SADDLE CASTINGS: Ductile iron per ASTM A-536, grade 65-45-12, protected with corrosion-resistant paint.
STRAP: Type 304 (18-8) heavy gauge Stainless Steel per ASTM A 240. Straps are two inches wide to spread out clamping
forces on the pipe. GMAW and GTAW welds. Passivated for corrosion resistance.
BOLTS: For sizes 1-1/2” through 3”, 1/2” UNC roll thread Type 304 (18-8) Stainless Steel bolts with heavy hex nuts. 4” and
above use 5/8” UNC roll thread Type 304 (18-8) Stainless Steel bolts with heavy hex nuts. Rod for bolts are per ASTM A 240
and nuts are per ASTM A 194. All welds fully passivated for enhanced corrosion resistance. Nuts coated to prevent galling.
WASHERS: Stainless steel per ASTM A 240, type 304.
GASKETS: NBR per ASTM MBC 610, compounded for water and sewer service. NSF61 Certied.

NYLON COATED SADDLE w/ STAINLESS STEEL STRAP
Recommended for asbestos-cement, cast iron or PVC pipe in hot or corrosive soils.
MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS
SADDLE CASTINGS: Ductile iron per ASTM A-536, grade 65-45-12, covered by black nylon fused coat, approx. 10-12 mil
thick, with approximate dielectric strength of 1,000 v/mil. Nylon coating is NSF 61 Certied.
STRAP: Type 304 (18-8) heavy gauge Stainless Steel per ASTM A 240. Straps are two inches wide to spread out clamping
forces on the pipe. GMAW and GTAW welds. Passivated for corrosion resistance.

BRONZE SADDLE WITH BRONZE STRAP
Recommended for asbestos-cement, cast iron or PVC pipe in hot or corrosive soils.
MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS
SADDLE CASTINGS: Water works bronze 85-5-5-5.
BRONZE STRAP: Silicon bronze 5/8” national coarse roll thread bolts with 2” wide band for “spreading out” clamping
force on pipe. Nuts and washers are silicon bronze.
GASKETS: NBR per ASTM MBC 610, compounded for water and sewer service. NSF61 Certied.
