TRANSMITTER
1. Power Switch: Turns the WPM61t on and off. When pressed in, the
unit is ON.
2. Volume Control: Adjusts the level of signal coming into the WPM61t.
3. Low Battery LED indicator: Blinks when the power is turned on and
a battery is installed, will stay lit if voltage is below 5.5 to 6 Volts.
4. Power LED Indicator: When the transmitter is being powered via
battery, this light will blink momentarily during power-up. It will light
continuously when the transmitter is operated via an external adapter.
5. BATT/DC switch: External power source switch, this
switch MUST be moved to the BATT location
for the unit to operate on battery power.
Conversely, the switch MUST be moved to the

(bottom)
DC location when the unit is to be operated
via external 12 VDC power (Rolls PS27).
6. Audio Input (Labeled AF IN): 1/8" (3.5mm)
jack connect to a line level monitor source.

this Power Switch is turned OFF. Otherwise, the battery will continue to drain.
2. Power LED Indicator: Blinks when the Power Switch is first turned ON, will stay lit
when the battery drops below 5.5 to 6 volts and the receiver will no longer operate.
4. Volume Control: Adjusts the output level of the WPM61r to the earphone jack.
5. Battery Compartment: Location for the 9 V alkaline battery. NOTE: The polarity for
installing the battery is shown below. The positive connection is toward the top of the

CONNECTION
OPERATION
First, place the WPM61t transmitter in a flat location, preferably in a "line of
sight" location where the transmitter and the receiver are not blocked by any
obstacles.
If the WPM61t is to be powered by a battery, make sure a fresh 9V alkaline
battery is properly installed (see page 2). If the unit is to be powered by an
external power supply (the Rolls PS27), connect the power supply to the DC12V jack on the side of the WPM61t and an AC outlet.
Begin with the WPM61t Volume control set at minimum.
Adapter cables may be needed to properly connect your monitor source and
the WPM61t. For example, if you are connecting the WPM61t to a typical
Monitor Send of a mixer which is 1/4" unbalanced (Tip-Sleeve), you will need
a cable with a 1/8" (3.5mm) plug on one end, and a 1/4" plug on the other.
The Input jack on the WPM61t will accept 1/8" Tip-Ring-Sleeve stereo signals,
and 1/8" Tip-Sleeve mono signals. However, stereo signals are mixed to mono
inside the WPM61t.
Connect your stereo earphones to the WPM61r Headphone Output jack
(Labeled AF OUT), begin with the Volume Control set at minimum.
Extend the WPM61 antenna fully and position it 90 degrees from the top of
the transmitter.
Press the ON/OFF switch on the WPM61t transmitter and make sure the unit
powers up, then power up the WPM61r receiver. Place the earphones in your
ears. Send a signal to the transmitter and carefully bring up the Volume
controls on the transmitter and receiver until a comfortable listening level is
achieved.
A note for musicians, during your "sound check" often the stage volume is
much lower than it will be during performance. You may wish to set your
earphone levels a little higher to compensate for this difference.
Test the range of the WPM61 by walking around the stage or area where the
receiver will be used. As you walk around the area, listen closely for "drop
outs" or areas where the signal may be lost or fuzzy. You may compensate for
these areas by moving the transmitter in different directions 8 - 10 inches. As
mentioned earlier, a "line of sight" arrangement of transmitter and receiver will
achieve the best results.
IMPORTANT
In ear monitor systems operate best when the stage volumes are low. The
high sound pressure levels produced by floor monitors can bleed through your
earpieces and may effect the usefulness of the WPM61 system.
CHANNEL SELECTION
Each WPM61 system ships from the factory set at one of four pre-selected
frequencies of operation. Multiple receivers may be operated with a single
transmitter if the same signal is to be heard by each receiver. These channels
may not be changed.
If a band wishes to use the WPM61 system, each person must use a different
WPM61 channel system and a maximum of four systems may be used for
different audio mixes.
