the respective connectors (input or output).
The following signals are supported.
DVI input: Analog RGB, analog component, DVI-D, and HDMI
DVI output: DVI-D and HDMI
This is a dedicated connector for updating the XI-DVI.
* Do not use a micro USB cable that is designed only for
charging a device. Charge-only cables cannot transmit data.
These inhibit temperature rises inside the XI-DVI by taking in
outside air and venting inner air.
NOTE
Never block the ventilation holes. Using the device with the
ventilation holes obstructed can result in internal heat buildup
and danger of malfunction of the XI-DVI.
Installing the XI-DVI
Install the XI-DVI on a compatible device.
Important Notes on Handling
Touching corners, protrusions, or other sharp areas on the XI-DVI can result in injury. Use
ample care when handling.
To avoid the risk of damage to internal components that can be caused by static
electricity, please carefully observe the following whenever you handle the XI-DVI.
• Before you touch the XI-DVI, always rst grasp a metal object (such as a water pipe),
so you are sure that any static electricity you might have been carrying has been
discharged.
• When handling the XI-DVI, grasp it only by the panel or the XI-DVI’s edges. Avoid
touching any of the electronic components or connectors.
• Before you connect any cables, make sure they do not carry a static electricity
charge. Such charges can be transmitted, for example, if the other end of the cable
has been in contact with a carpet (or other object) where there is a static electricity
buildup.
• Save the bag in which the XI-DVI was originally shipped, and put the XI-DVI back
into it whenever you need to store or transport it.
Installing
NOTE
• Before installing the XI-DVI, you must rst always turn o the unit where installing
and unplug its power cord from the power outlet.
• When restarting the device with the XI-DVI installed, wait several seconds before
turning on the power.
1. Loosen the EXPANSION SLOT mounting screws (2) on the device where you’re
installing, and detach the panel cover.
2. Insert the XI-DVI into the EXPANSION SLOT.
* Do not touch any of the XI-DVI pathways or connection terminals.
* Never use excessive force when installing the XI-DVI. If it doesn’t t properly on the rst
attempt, remove the XI-DVI and try again.
3. Secure the XI-DVI in place using the mounting screws (2).
