Whenever lowering the stylus onto the record the counterweight
should always be fitted to the arm. Failure to do so could
permanently damage your cartridge and your records.

TABRIZzi first fit the counterweight rider onto the stem
and line up the two white lines. To adjust the tracking force the rider
must be moved forward towards the bearing housing to increase and
away from the bearing housing to decrease the force. Begin with the
rider at the middle of the peg. Then place the main counterweight
assembly with the spike positioned into the recess.

TABRIZzi with the 'intelligent' counterweight affect the tracking
force depending on the vertical tracking alignment (VIA) of the arm,
so the force can only be set with the stylus tip at the same height a: the
record surface. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. (Removing the
turntable mat may help.)
UNPACKING AND INITIAL ASSEMBLY
Carefully remove the arm from its packing and fit the cartridge to
the headshell. The tip of the stylus should be directly below the edge of
the tonearm, point 'Z' in Fig. l. Use good quality stainless steel M2.5
socket cap screws and nuts to mount the cartridge but do not tighten
them up just yet. Take care to connect the cartridge tags correctly in
accordance with the cartrid
e manufacturer's instructions.

POSITIONING THE BASEPLATE
The baseplate should now be fitted to the arm board of the turntable.
The circular raised ridge of the hexagonal lockout should face towards
the underside of the armboard. Fit the baseplate such that the arm pillar
clamping screw faces the right hand side to facilitate easy adjustment
of the arm.
Align the position of the baseplate, relative to the turntable spindle
using the alignment protractor provided. Place the hole, marked 'O',
over the spindle and place position 'X' over the baseplate, adjust the
position of the baseplate in the hole until the centre is aligned with
point 'W'. Tighten the lockout using a 32mm spanner (11/4" wrench)
and ensure that the baseplate does not rotate by holding firm with the
Allen key inserted into the socket cap screw. The

Use a good quality stylus balance and set the tracking force of the
cartridge in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
The arm should be adjusted for correct VIA. Place the felt mat and a
relatively flat record on the turntable platter. The parallel lines
marked on the alignment protractor should be used to ensure the arm
is almost parallel to the record surface.
Use a pin to make small indents in points'C' and 'D' on the
protractor to locate the stylus tip. The cartridge should now be
aligned on points'C' and 'D' on the protractor, with the
counterweight fitted. Move the cartridge along the slots in the
headshell, forward or back until the cartridge body aligns
perfectly with the lines on the protractor. Tighten the cartridge
bolts finger tight to prevent the cartridge from moving.
When you have achieved perfect alignment on points 'C' and 'D' the
arm should preferably be removed and the cartridge bolts tightened.
Do not overtighten the bolts as you can damage the headshell and
cartridge body.
The arm should be aligned so that, when in its rest position, the arm
tube is parallel to the side of the turntable. This is necessary for
correct adjustment of the anti-skating, and to ensure that the
stylus can never be damaged when moving the arm between the
record and the rest position. When you have achieved the correct
position tighten the M4 socket cap screw in the side of the baseplate
with the Allen key provided.. Re-check the height of the
for correct VIA.
The arm cable should be inserted into the base of the tonearm and
the flying earth lead connected to the turntable if required.

ADJUSTING THE ANTI-SKATING
The anti-skating dial should be set initially to correspond with the
amount of tracking force applied. To make fine adjustments this
should be carried out dynamically, ie. while playing a record.

POSITIONING THE T TONEARM &
ALIGNING THE CARTRIDGE
Fit the TABRIZ into the baseplate roughly positioning the arm tube
parallel to the side of the turntable. Ensure the counterweight is fitted
to the arm to prevent damage to the cartridge.
The height of the counterweight should be adjusted such that it is as
low as possible without touching the armboard. If a particularly high
compliance cartridge causes any problems the height of the
counterweight should be increased.
