Introduction
Congratulations! You’ve just purchased a time-saving, precision laser tool of
superior quality. RT-7610-5 is not only precise, but it’s also easy to use.
Simply turn RT-7610-5 on, place it on any surface and the servo mechanism
inside the device takes care of the rest. If placed on a surface which positions
the unit beyond its leveling range indicated in the specifications RT-7610-5’s
5 beams will blink quickly, indicating the need for the device to be repositioned on a more level surface. It’s that simple. So get to work and enjoy the
time-savings which RT-7610-5 provides.
Turning the RT-7610-5 on and off
• To turn RT-7610-5 on, slide the power switch forward to the “O”
position.
• To turn RT-7610-5 off, slide the power switch backward to the “I” position.
Note: When powering off the RT-7610-5, allow at least a 2 second
interval before powering the unit back on. This is to ensure proper
operation of your laser tool.
Auto-off feature
•
A battery saving Auto-off feature has been incorporated into RT7610-5 that will shut the device off automatically in 20 minutes
unless overridden. To override the Auto-off feature slide the power
switch forward to the override position and hold for more than 2
seconds and less than 5 seconds. (Note: if held longer than 5
seconds unit enters calibration mode). Once the Auto-off feature
has been overridden, all five lasers will rapidly flash twice for multiple cycles. The device will remain on for eight hours before turning off automatically. To re-enable the Auto-off feature, repeat the
process used to enter the Auto-off process or simply turn the unit
off and back on.
Out-of-level indicator
• The RT-7610-5 is a self-leveling device that is effective only within the
specified range. If the device is not level (within or outside of the
specified range), all five laser beams will blink. If the device is outside
of its self-leveling range for 5 or more minutes, the motors will shut
off and the five laser beams will continue flashing indicating the device
is outside of its self-leveling range and needs to be manually adjusted.
4. How to use RT-7610-5
Low battery indicator
• When the battery power becomes low, all five laser beams will blink
slowly, (once per 10 seconds) indicating the need for all four of the batteries to be replaced.
Note: RT-7610-5 can be used for up to 5 hours during low battery indica
tion before it will turn off completely .
Using the reflective targets
• The red plastic film used in the targets enhances the laser making the
laser dot much more visible. Tabs on the target allow it to be attached
to a standard tape measure which can then be used as a Storey pole.
Using the laser enhancement glasses
• The red plastic used in the glasses enhances the laser, making the laser
dot more visible. These glasses are particularly useful when using RT7610-5 outdoors or in brightly lit environments.
Battery replacement
• Turn the slotted screw located at the back of RT-7610-5 in the counterclockwise direction. This will release the battery cover and provide access
to the batteries. Replace all four batteries, and then return the battery
cover to its original position following the steps illustrated. When the battery cover is in place, give the slotted screw a quarter turn in the clockwise direction to lock the cover in place.
Note: Alkaline batteries offer the longest battery life when used in this
device.
Sliding mounting stud
• Mount RT-7610-5 to the accessory using the sliding mounting stud
• Use the sliding/rotating action of the sliding mounting stud to:
1. Cantilever RT-7610-5 over the accessory.
2. Rotate RT-7610-5 around the mounting stud to change the location of any of the three horizontal leveling beams without changing the elevation of the beams.
5/8”-11 Tripod mount
• Use this threaded hole, to mount the RT-7610-5 to a surveyor’s tripod.
