Roadmaster JNS1800 User Manual

When you first unpack the JNS1800 from the box, the battery only has a minimum charge. Using the included 110 volt AC wall outlet adaptor. Plug the unit in as shown.
Turn the JNS1800's power switch off, plug the 110 volt wall outlet adaptor into a 110 volt outlet. Insert the 12 volt plug of the 110 volt wall outlet adaptor into the 12 volt input on the front of the JNS1800 for the initial charge.
After the initial charge, you can recharge the JNS1800 after each use or recharge every two months using the 12 Volt Cigarette Lighter adaptor or the 110V Wall outlet adaptor.
1. Turn your vehicle ON and leave running.
DO NOT DRIVE WHILE RECHARGING!
2. Connect 12V Cigarette Lighter Adaptor to Jump 'N Start as shown.
3. Turn POWER switch OFF when recharging.
4. Recharging will begin. 30 MINUTES MAXIMUM!
5. The Green Battery Condition Lights will light
when a full charge is received.

• Completely read these instructions and any others provided before attempting to use this unit.
• Working near a lead-acid battery is dangerous. Batteries generate explosive gases during normal battery operation. For this reason, it is important that you read this manual and follow the instructions exactly whenever using your JNS1800. Also read and follow the instructions published by the vehicle battery manufacturer and the manufacturer of any equipment you intend to use in the vicinity of the battery. Review all caution markings on these products and on the engine.
• Wear eye and clothing protection.
• Have plenty of fresh water and soap nearby in case battery acid contacts skin,
clothing or eyes. Avoid touching eyes while working near battery.
• If battery acid contacts skin or clothing, wash immediately with soap and water.
• If acid enters the eye(s) immediately flood with cold water for at least 10 minutes and
get medical attention as soon as possible.
• Do not smoke or allow a spark or flame near the battery engine.
• Contact between metal tools and the positive car battery post may cause a spark or short circuit the car battery or electrical component that may cause an explosion.
• Keep this product out of the reach of children.
Improper use of of this product may result in the possiblity of bodily injury, such as burns or blindness.
Never operate this unit near any flammable gasses, liquids, or near an open flame.
• Follow the manufacturers recommendations for powering their products.
• Use only the charging adapters supplied with the unit.
• Keep away from any sources of moisture or humidity such as rain or snow.
• Only use 12 volt outlets with 12 volt accessories.
• Always use the same amperage fuse when replacing the fuse.
1. Turn the Power Switch to the ON position.
2. Slide cover down to access 12 volt DC sockets.
3. Insert the cigarette lighter adaptor from the accessory into the Jump 'N Starts 12 volt DC sockets.
4. Turn on accessory.

This unit has a sealed lead-acid battery that should be kept at full charge. Recharge when first received, and immediately after each use, and every two months if not used. Failure to do this may cause the battery life to be reduced.
The
Red Charging Indicator Light
will indicate that the battery has begun to charge. A full charge is usually achieved in 5 to 7 days.
The Green Battery Condition Indicator Lights will both be lit when the Jump 'N Start has received a full charge.
Jump Starting a Vehicle
1. Lift up and pull out on JNS1800's Battery Clamps to separate from unit. Do not let the clamps touch each other.
2. Connect the RED Positive (+) Battery Clamp to the Vehicle's
Positive (+) Battery Terminal.
3. Connect the Black Negative (-) Battery Clamp to the vehicle's chassis as shown.
4. After vehicle has been started, Remove the Black Negative (-) Battery Clamp to the vehicle's chassis as shown.
5. Remove the RED Positive (+) Battery Clamp from the Vehicle's
Positive (+) Battery Terminal.

Always follow the manufacturers' operating manual of the 12 volt accessories you intend to operate with the JNS1800. Not following the operating instructions may result in damage to the JNS1800 and/or the accessory you are using.

What if Battery Condition Indicator Lights DO NOT indicate a charge after 24 and there is no change in status of battery condition indictor lights?
Charger may not be charging. Check charger, it should be warm to touch when active.
What are the cold cranking amps of a JNS1800?
The Jump-n-Start has 400 cold cranking amps.
What if when using the cigarette lighter socket outputs on the JNS1800, a clicking sound is heard?
Accessory plug into cigarette lighter socket outputs is drawing too much power. plugged into the cigarette lighter socket outputs needs only 12 volts.
If Using the 12 Volt DC Adaptor to Charge the Unit and the Battery Charging Indicator Light DOES NOT Come ON?
The vehicle's cigarette lighter socket may have a blown 12 volt DC fuse. Replace vehicle's cigarette lighter socket fuse or you may need to replace the fuse in the supplied cigarette lighter adaptor.
How many jump starts can a fully charged JNS1800 do before needing to be recharged?
1 to 30. Factors are temperature, general condition of the vehicle, engine type and size.

Check where the wire meets the jaw on the JNS1800 clip. Make sure they are tightly crimped.
How long will the battery last?
