IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances especially when children are present, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
2. To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plug or motor housing in water or liquid.
3. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
4. Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning.
5. Avoid contact with moving parts.
6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return appliance to an authorized service center for examination, electrical/mechanical repair or adjustment.
7. The use of accessory attachments, including canning jars, not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury.

12. Keep hands and utensils out of container while blending to prevent the possibility of severe personal injury and/or damage to the unit. A spatula may be used but only when the unit is not running.
13. Blades are sharp. Handle carefully.
14. To reduce the risk of injury, never place cutter assembly blades on base without container attached.
15. Always operate blender with cover (lid) in place.
16. When blending hot liquids, remove center piece of two-piece cover.

LINE CORD SAFETY TIPS
1. Never pull or yank on cord or the appliance.
2. To insert plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into outlet.
3. To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it from outlet.
4. Before each use, inspect the line cord for cuts and/or abrasion marks. If any are
found, this indicates that the appliance should be serviced and the line cord replaced. Please return it to our Service Department or to an authorized service representative.
5. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place undue stress
on the cord where it enters the appliance and cause it to fray and break.
DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE LINE CORD SHOWS ANY DAMAGE, OR IF APPLIANCE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY.
An extension cord may be used with care. However, the marked electrical rating shall be at least as great as the electrical rating of this appliance. The extension cord should not be allowed to drape over the tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
IMPORTANT
During the first few minutes of initial use, you may notice a slight odor. This is normal and should quickly disappear. It will not recur after appliance has been used a few more times.
The blades are VERY sharp.
ALWAYS unplug the appliance before a ssemblin g, disassembling,
cleaning or storing.
The appliance must be kept out of reach of children.
Do not hold the motor housing under running water, nor immerse it in water.
The appliance is constructed to process normal household quantities.
HOW TO OPERATE YOUR BLENDER
BEFORE INITIAL USE:
Unpack the blender and wash the lid, measuring cap, plastic jar, gasket, and cutting blade assembly in hot, soapy water before use. The lid/cap and cutting blade assemblies must be disassembled before washing.

To remove the measuring cap from the lid, twist the cap until tabs on c ap line up with notches on lid, and disengage the cap from the lid.
After washing parts, rinse and dry thoroughly. Wipe the blender base with a damp cloth or sponge to remove any packaging dust. NEVER immerse blender base, cord or plug in water or other liquids. Do not use harsh cleaning chemicals or abr asiv e cle aners on any parts of the blender.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Place blender base on a flat, level surface. DO NOT PLUG IN UNTIL THE BLENDER IS COMPLETELY ASSEMBLED.
2. Replace gasket on cutting blade assembly and place ass embly inside jar collar. Rotate cutting blade assembly counterclockwise until it is locked in place. Replace cap in the jar lid and twist to secure. Place lid on top of jar. Place jar onto base and rotate clockwise until it is locked in place.
HOW TO USE:
1. The OFF/PULSE button will turn off the blender or operate the PULSE function.
2. Plug the cord into any 120-volt 60Hz AC outlet only.
3. Place ingredients into the jar (container).
4. Make sure cap is on the lid and the lid is secure on top of the jar (container).
5. Press one of the function buttons to select the desired function and speed setting.
6. Push the OFF button when blending is finished. Before removin g the lid or the jar (container) from the base, wait for the cutting blade to stop rotating. To remove the jar from the base, grasp the jar handle and rotate counterclockwise.
CAUTION: If jar (container) rotates during blending, immediately pr ess the OFF button, then secure the jar (container) by rotating clockwise until fully locked in place.

Select the appropriate speed setting for your task: Press the “OFF” button when finished.

PULSE: Pulse is the ideal setting for smaller quantities or short blending cycles. For example, use the pulse setting to crumb a variety of dry ingredients: cookies, crackers, breads, etc.
NOTE: This blender is not capable of the follo wing functions: grinding meat, mashing boiled potatoes, kneading dough, whipping egg whites stiff, extracting juice from vegetables and fruits.
NOTE: Due to the varieties in the amount and consistency of some foods as well as personal preference, a higher or lower speed than suggested may be preferred.
