EZConnect Cable
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
The EZConnect cable connects two water heaters (models R98i/e, C98i/e, R98i/e, R98LSi/e, R94LSi/e,
R75LSi/e, R63LSe2, R50LSi, RC98HPi/e, RC80HPi/e) and allows them to function as one hot water
source. To connect more than two of these models, the MSA-2M and MSA-2S packs are needed.
Do not install both the EZConnect and the MSA packs because they are not designed to operate
together.
Temperature settings can only be changed on the controller for the primary unit.
Water heaters connected with the EZConnect Cable cannot be used for the bathfill function.
1. The two water heaters need to be installed 2-18 inches apart so that the cable will reach between
the two units and to prevent temperature fluctuations (cold water sandwich effect) when the water is
shut off and turned back on.
2. Remove the protective cap from the 3 pin connector marked “EZConnect” located in the wiring
harness of the Primary Unit. (Figure 1)
3. Install the EZConnect cable by plugging in the cable on both the Primary and Sub unit.

4. Securely tighten the EZConnect cable to the bottom of
both water heaters by using the cable clamp and screw
supplied. (Figure 4)
