ABAR11005 F350 AirBar HD rear air ride system
This is an overall view of the
F350 AirBar HD assembly
1. Raise and support truck at a comfortable working height. You will need to support the truck by the
frame ahead of the leafspring mounts. You will also need to support the axle housing with three
jackstands, two under the axle tubes inboard of the leafspring pads and one under the pinion yoke to
keep the axle housing from falling when the leafsprings are removed.
2. Remove the leafsprings.
.
3. Remove the leafspring overload
bracket and install the upper AirBar
frame bracket into it’s place. There will
be extra holes to drill. The bottom bar is
installed into the oem leafspring hangar.
4. Repeat this procedure for the
passenger side
5. Install the AirBar bridge mount
assembly. You will probably need
help for this as the bridge is large
and heavy. Tighten the bolts evenly.
6. Install upper and lower 4 link bars.
7. After both AirBar assemblies are installed, The upper
airspring brackets will be installed. There is a left and right
bracket. These brackets are indexed on the 2 front holes of
the rear overload bracket. There will be 2 holes in each
bracket that will align the brackets. The remaining holes will
be drilled in the frame.
8. Remove the oem bumpstop and install our shorter
bumpstop.
Drivers side upper airspring bracket. The 2 bolts on
the right side of this bracket will go into the holes
vacated by the oem rear overload bracket. The
remaining holes will be drilled. The 4 holes on the left
side of this drivers side bracket will also attach the
panhard bar frame bracket on the inside of the
framerail.
Also note the removal of the oem bumpstop and the
installation of our shorter bumpstop.
9. Install panhard bar frame bracket using the attachment bolts for the drivers side upper airspring
bracket.
10. Install the panhard axle bracket to the rearend cover using our supplied hardware.
Panhard bar frame bracket on drivers side inner
framerail. This bracket uses the upper airspring
bracket attachment hardware.
Panhard bar axle bracket. Be sure to use our
supplied attachment hardware.
11. Remove factory carrier bearing bracket and install our supplied mounting plate. This will properly
realign the driveshaft for the newly lowered stance.
New carrier bearing spacer plate to realign
driveshaft.
Air ride assembly at ride height.
12. Now the truck can be lowered back to the ground
and inflated to approx. 25psi. This air pressure will need to be adjusted for varying loads.
NOTE: IT IS THE FINAL RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CUSTOMER / INSTALLER TO ENSURE
THAT THE AIRSPRINGS DO NOT RUB ON ANYTHING!! ABRASION WILL RESULT IN
AIRSPRING FAILURE!!
