Installation Instructions
1. Raise and support car at a safe, comfortable working height. Let the front suspension hang freely.
2. Remove coil spring, shock absorber and strut tower reinforcement plate. Refer to factory service manual for proper disassembly procedure.
*** Must Use RideTech Front Shock Kit ***
3. Place the lower air spring mount on top of the upper control arm. Drop two 3/8” x 1” carriage bolts through the plate and existing holes in the upper arm. Tighten with nyloc nuts and flat washers.
4. Apply thread sealant to the air fitting and screw it into the top of the air spring. Place the upper cup on top of the air spring and fasten with two 3/8” nyloc nuts and flat washers.
5. Thread the 6” stud into the nut in the bottom of the cup.
6. Place the cup into the strut tower with the stud protruding through the strut tower. The airline access hole will face the engine.
7. The upper plate is formed to the shape of the top of the strut tower. It will only want to sit in one position. Use a 7/16” nyloc nut and flat washer to secure the assembly.
8. With a 5/8” bit, drill a hole in the strut tower using the upper plate as a template. This hole will be used as the new upper shock mount.
9. Insert a 3/8” x 3/4" bolt, flat washer and lock washer through the lower plate into the bottom of the air spring.
14. Reinstall the strut tower reinforcement plate. Install the new bump stop in the factory location. It may be necessary to trim the inside edge of the bump stop for air spring clearance. Check air spring clearance through full suspension travel.
Allowing the air spring to rub will cause failure and is not warrantable.
15. Driving height on this air spring is approx. 5”. This may vary slightly to driver preference.
