4. Caution when installing the LCT (large capacity tray service manual - installation
procedure, page 12)

When installing the tray unit [A] to the LCT connector [B], be careful not to pinch the
harness between the feed unit bracket [C] and the tray unit bracket [D], as shown.

To prevent this, fix the harness with a tape as shown before installing the tray unit.

F400 series

< POSSIBLE CAUSE>

There are two micro switches detecting the 3.5K LCT small cover [A] open condition.
One switch [B] is a safety switch for cutting the power to the motors when the door is

opened.
The other switch [C] sends a signal to the copier main control board. This cover open
signal is used to indicate the cover open condition on the operation panel and prohibits the
copying.

When the cover [A] is opened, both switches should be actuated.

When the door [A] is closed incompletely, it is possible that only the signal switch [C] is
actuated. In this case, the operation panel does not indicate the door open condition and
the print key is green. If the customer selects the 3.5K LCT and presses the print key, the
LCT feed motor does not rotate and SC506 is displayed.

(If only the safety switch [B] is actuated, operation panel indicates the open condition
correctly).
