This section explains how to change the camera settings, including formatting
(initializing) the storage memory (P.43), and setting the auto power off, beep
sound and keep settings mode.
Keep Settings
The keep settings mode enables you to save the settings after the camera is
switched off. The following settings can be saved.

Beep Sound Setting
The camera beeps to alert you when it records a picture. You can enable and
disable the beep by the following steps.
A Set the mode dial to [].
B Select [BEEP SOUND] and then select
[OK].
C Select [ON] or [OFF] and then select
[OK].
Select [OFF] to disable the beep.
• The error beep is not disabled even when the beep sound is set on

[OFF].
Auto Power Off Setting
The camera will turn off automatically (auto power off) in the recording and play
modes to conserve the battery if it is left idle (no buttons or switches operated)
for a preset length of time. The time until the auto power off function is activated
can be set from 0 – 60 minutes.
Setting

Sets the time until the camera turns off automatically if
no operation is performed. The factory default setting is
5 minutes in recording and play modes.
Sets the time until the LCD monitor turns off
automatically if no operation is performed. The factory

Changing the LCD Confirmation Time
When you press the shutter release button in (Still Picture) mode, the
image is displayed on the LCD monitor. You can select the time for confirming
the image after shooting from 0 second, 1 second, 2 seconds and 3 seconds.

B Select [LCD CONFIRMATION TIME].
C Choose the confirmation time (0SEC,
1SEC, 2SEC or 3SEC) and then select

The confirmation time will be changed and

Using the Remote Control
This section explains how to operate the camera using the DR-3 remote control
unit (optional).

• The remote control receiver is located on the front of the camera.

Operate the remote control unit by pointing it at the remote control
receiver.

• Some procedures differ when performed on the remote control unit
and on the camera itself. Follow the instructions below to use the

Shooting
The remote control unit can be used to operate the camera. It is particularly
useful when the camera is set up at a remote position or is in a fixed position.

Setting the Exposure Compensation

Shooting in Manual Focus Mode
A Press the PROGRAM button.
The manual focus mode will be enabled.
B Adjust the focus using the FWD (왕) or REV (왓) button.
Press the RELEASE button to take the picture.
● To cancel the mode setting

Playback
You can use the remote control unit to playback recorded files.

select the playback source.
The most recently recorded file will be played
back.
B Choose a file by pressing the FWD

Displaying Multiple Images (Thumbnail Playback)
A Press the ENTER button to switch to the Edit mode.
B Press the MULTI button.
The thumbnail playback will be enabled.
C Change the selected image using the FWD (왕) or REV (왓) button.

The selected file will be displayed as a single image and the thumbnail
playback will be canceled.
Deleting
You can use the remote control unit to delete a recorded file.
