Character Input
You can input characters when making the communication settings (mail address, title, message, etc.) as explained below.
Inputting
A Select the item and press the
button to display the character input screen.
B Select the desired character by using
the · · · buttons and press the FUNCTION button.
C Press the ENTER button to exit the
character input screen.
Deleting
In step B above use the · · · buttons to move the cursor on the right position of the character to be deleted and press the button.

Troubleshooting
In the case of misoperation or when processing cannot be performed due to some problem, an error message will be displayed. This section explains the causes of problems and how to remedy them.

PPP account for dial-up setting is not entered. Enter user name (PPP account).
Telephone number has not been input in dial-up setting. Be sure to enter telephone number.
Dial-up setting is incorrect. Check user name (PPP account) or PPP password and reset.
Connection cannot be established for some reason. Check setting for dial-up account, Direct Upload or FTP Upload and resend.
Communication card has not been inserted. Insert it to card slot.
Communication card has not been recognized. Check communication card setting (modem setting). If message still appears, remove communication card and reinsert it.
Communication cable has not been correctly connected to communiation card. Connect cable correctly.
AT command is incorrect in modem setting. Reset it.
Dial-up destination is busy. Wait for a while and establish connection again.

Cause and Remedy
E-mail settings are incorrect. Check POP account and POP password and reset.

Turn the camera off, then turn it back on again. If problem persists, make a backup of necessary files and format the storage memory.
Message storage capacity exceeded and no more mail can be downloaded. Delete unwanted mail from inbox or outbox, and download mail.
Folder number exceeding 999 cannot be created. Delete folder.
Specify another folder name. Make a backup of necessary files and format the
CF card, or use another storage memory. Insert the CF card.

The number of file to upload is exceeding the capacity. Decrease the number of file to upload.
File reading failure. Resend. If error persists, file may be unusable.
