The firmware on the MPU has been updated. The new firmware enables the Japanese model
to install a sorter as an option. (SP2-4 ‘Sorter Select’ has been added.) This function is for
the Japanese model only, but the old and new MPU’s (and the ROM kit) are commonly used
for the other models (interchangeability is O/O).
Consequently, the part numbers for the MPU and the ROM kit have been changed for
identification purposes.
NOTE:
1) This model uses a flash ROM on the MPU, but does not use
EPROM’s. The ‘ROM Kit’ is for updating the firmware in the flash
ROM only.
2) For the firmware revision history, including this modification, refer to
Technical Bulletin number 5.

To achieve better image quality, the factory setting for the printing pressure has been
changed. To make it possible to increase the pressure even after changing the factory
setting, the two brackets that hold the printing pressure springs at the front and rear have
been changed.
