Instruct customers not to mix different size originals when feeding them with
the DF-43.
Note : The same width of originals, such as A4 and A3, can be mixed in facsimile
mode only.
Reason:
With the DF-43, the original size will be detected when the originals are placed on the
original table. Therefore, when mixing different size originals on the table, the
maximum size detected will be used for all pages of the original.

Symptoms when mixing different original sizes:
In copying mode:
- The machine will select the copy paper size to match the maximum original size.
- In auto reduce/enlarge mode with the designated copy paper size, the reproduction
ratio will be selected to match the maximum original size.
In facsimile mode:
- When mixing the same width of originals, the facsimile transmission will be made
properly.
- If mixing originals with different widths, the originals with a smaller width will be
transmitted with a white margin at the left end, as originals will be scanned with the
maximum width.

sheet over the current one.
Note :
The maximum number of sheets that can be pasted on top of each other is limited
to two (2) sheets. When it necessary to paste more sheets (1 original sheet and 2
pasted sheets), please replace the following 3 parts at the same time.

SYMPTOM
Black stripes when using the sheet scanner
CAUSE
Dust on the exposure glass.
SOLUTION
1. The three mylars have been added on the original scale (A6283192) to prevent the
scanning position on the exposure glass from becoming dirty.

Because the contact position of the original becomes dirty with paper dust, it has been
moved from the scanning position by using mylars.

SYMPTOM
The left cover cannot be closed.
CAUSE
The Front or Rear Guide Plate was accidentally turned to the left when the operator
removed a jammed original, because these plates are difficult to see.
SOLUTION

The color of the Front and Rear Guide Plates has been changed from black to a clear
color.
