There simply hasn’t been a compact digi tal camera suitable for professionals. The Caplio GX changes
that with its 5.13 ef fective-megapixel CCD, 28—85 mm range and the world’s fastest (0.12 seconds)
shutter release time lag. It also features Aperture Priorit y and Manual Exposure modes, plus a wide range
of functions and unmatched expandability. Providing the ability to captures scenes formerly poss ibl e
only wi t h a single lens reflex camera , the Caplio GX will fully satisfy t he demands of professionals.

the needs of serious photographers.

The Caplio GX features a 1/1.8-type high resolution CCD wit h 5.13 ef fe c­tive- m egapixel re solution (total of 5.25 megapixels) that ensures excellent
results in a wide range of shooting situations. The combination of this CCD
and a low-noise, single-chip processor gives you the high image quality
requir ed for ful l-size A3- spr ea d prints.

28 ~ 85mm optical 3x zoom transcends
th e boundaries of compact digital cam eras.

The 3 x opt i c al zoom expands the ca m­ era’s wide angle to 28 mm, a range diffi­ cult for other compac t dig ital cameras to
achieve. It let s you shoot wid e images
tha t couldn’t be acc ommodate d in the
fr a me. In addition, Ricoh’s new zoom lens
utilizes 9 elements in 7 groups to guaran­ tee adequate peripheral light, usuall y a prob lem at wide angle edges. Four
aspherical lenses and four lenses with high refractive index and low d i s ­ pe rsion are arranged to ensure well-bala nced cor rection of aberration in
all zoom ranges. The lens quality is comparable to a CCD having 6 or
more megapixels.

You want delicate cont rol over depth of field. Aper ture pr iority mode gives
it t o you. Set it to open with the up-d own dial and enjoy a wide range of
depth with fine control. You are free to, for example, narrow the aperture to
aim for pan-focus images. With a depth of field deeper than a single reflex
lens, you can get well-focused
images from directly in fr ont of
you to far away. And you can
manually set the shutter speed
from a high speed of 1/2000 to
a long exposure of 30 seconds.

Delicate exposure correcti on for
more subtle lighting effe ct s.

When t h e contrast of the light is strong , or whe n you wan t a w hite objec t
to be a little whit er or a black object a li ttle bl acker, correcting the expo­sure so it is slightly over or under results in beautiful i mages wi th more
effective li gh ting and sha d in g . The Caplio GX can correct exposure in
1/3 EV steps within a ra nge of ±2.0 E V.
