The height of the entrance guide has been raised 1 mm, changing the shape of both the
entrance guide and entrance cooling support guides. When replacing either of the old

A2944161 (Upper Fusing Exit Guide) and A2944165 (Exit Guide Bracket) were not
manufactured correctly in accordance with diagrams during the early stages of production.
The Production Division made corrections to the Upper Fusing Exit Guide and Exit Guide
Bracket by welding or gluing the spacer to conform to the diagrams. In addition, the parts
are now manufactured correctly and function normally in combination. If either of the two
parts needs to be replaced in the field, it may be impossible to replace the part individually.
To prevent this, the part numbers for both have been changed.
Therefore, when either of the old parts needs to be replaced in the field, they should
both be replaced together as a set. For parts control, the old parts (A2944161 and
A2944165) are not supplied any more.

During a continuous sequence of long duplex copy jobs, the transport belts in the fusing
exit section receive heat from the copy paper. This can cause the rubber belts to become
slack, which in turn can cause the belts to come off the rollers. To improve the durability of
the transport belt, the belt material has been changed to a heat-resistant silicone rubber.

During production, it was found that some ADF Main Control Boards had a relatively
narrow adjustment range for the transport drive motor speed. In some cases, the motors
could not reach the target adjustment speed.
The defective boards were not installed in the ADF Units. Therefore, the same symptom

The transfer belt for the 85cpm model has been standardized to that for the 105cpm model
A low-resistance transfer belt (A2293899) is used for the 105cpm machine to compensate
for the greater tendency of black lines to appear in half-tone areas. This is because the
transfer current for type B is higher than that of type A. Although the high-resistance
transfer belt (A2293852) is installed in the 85cpm production machines, only the lowresistance belt (105cpm model, A2293899) will be supplied as a service part. The belt can
be used for both machines and will facilitate parts standardization (the low-resistance
transfer belt can be used for both type A and B).

Sometimes, the toner bottle cap may remain in the toner chuck when the bottle is
removed. The bottle cap can get caught by the toner chuck when the bottle is tilted upward
and removed.
To prevent the possible cause, the production machines have been modified as follows:
1. The length of the toner bank slider has been reduced from 45.1 mm to 44.1 mm.
2. The length of the toner bank slider guide in gear 108Z has been increased from 5.7 mm
to 6.7 mm.
3. A taper guide has been added to each toner bank slider and to gear-108Z.
4. Due to this modification, the part numbers of the toner bank unit have been changed.
Note 1:
When replacing the old toner bank slider or the gear in the field, be sure to install both
parts together as a set.

To minimize toner dusting, the following countermeasures have been applied to the
development unit and toner hopper.
1. To ensure that toner does not leak from the toner supply unit (toner hopper) casing, the
material of the seals has been changed to a high-density type of sponge (indices 7, 8, 9,
10, 14, 24, 25, 26 - p. 83). Additionally, the width of AA151794 (index 26) has been
increased from 5 to 10 mm.
2. To seal two gaps in the toner supply unit casing, two seals have been added to the
toner supply unit.
3. To ensure that toner does not leak from the toner hopper joint (index 3 - p. 83), the
shape of the toner hopper joint has been modified as shown below.
4. To minimize toner dusting from both sides of the development unit, the material of the
development unit side seals has been changed (indices 4, 5 - p. 87).
Note:
1. For machines without the A2949502 seal from the enhancement kit (A2949901) or
machines in which this seal has come off, please replace the AA141794 seal with the
new A2943238 seal. This will have the same effect. Please refer to RTB RA294018.
2. Just as with Note 1 above, please replace the A2943237 seal with the new AA141793
seal, instead of replacing the A2949505 seal from the enhancement kit. Please refer to
RTB RA294018.
3. A2943235 can be used to replace A2949503 or A2949504, both of which are contained
in enhancement kit A2949901. To replace A2949503 with the new seal A2943235, cut
the new seal to 47 mm.

Previously, the cushion for the junction gate solenoid was attached to the bracket using
double-sided tape to correct the noise generated by the duplex junction gate. Since in
some cases the tape gradually peels off, the cushion has been changed from a stick-on
type to one with a slit that fits over the bracket.

To minimize toner dusting, the following countermeasures have been applied to the
development unit and toner hopper.
1. To ensure that toner does not leak from the toner supply unit (toner hopper) casing, the
material of the seals has been changed to a high-density type sponge (indices 7, 8, 9,
10, 14, 24, 25, 26 - p. 83). Additionally, the width of AA151794 (index 26) has been
increased from 5 to 10 mm. All modifications above were material changes, except
for AA151794 to A2943238, which was both a material change and a shape
change.
2. To seal two gaps in the toner supply unit casing, two seals (A2943235, please refer to
figure 2 on the next page) have been added to the toner supply unit.
3. To ensure that toner does not leak from the toner hopper joint (index 3 - p. 83), the
shape of the toner hopper joint has been modified as shown in figure 1 on the next
page.
4. To minimize toner dusting from both sides of the development unit, the material of the
development unit side seals has been changed (indices 4, 5 - p. 87).
Note:
1. For machines without the A2949502 seal from the enhancement kit (A2949901) or
machines in which this seal has come off, please replace the AA151794 seal with the
new A2943238 seal. This will have a better effect than the combination of
AA151794 and A2949502. Please refer to RTB RA294018.

2.Just as with Note 1 above, please replace the AA151793 seal with the new A2943237
seal, instead of replacing the A2949505 seal from the enhancement kit. Please refer to
RTB RA294018.
3.A2943235 can be used to replace A2949503 or A2949504, both of which are contained
in enhancement kit A2949901. The shape of A2943235 is almost the same as that of
A2949504. However, A2949503 is shorter than A2943235. This is because A2943235
is attached at the factory under sponge seal A2943236. So when replacing
A2949503 with A2943235, cut A2943235 to 47 mm.

It was reported from the field that the waste toner full condition cannot be reset even after
the waste toner collection bottle is replaced with a new one. This was caused by hardened
toner which blocked the tip of the waste toner coil.
To ensure that this does not occur, the length of the toner collection coil [A] has been
increased, and a center shaft has been added to increase the strength of the coil.

modification in the field.
