Shift Tray
Positioning Roller
Shift Tray Holder
The shift tray positioning roller cannot be pushed up by
the shift tray if it is removed while servicing. If the main
switch is turned on under this condition, the shift tray
motor starts rotating but it does not stop. Then, the
shift tray holder continues to be lifted up. This may
cause the driving parts to be damaged.
To correct this, the production machines have been
modified as follow s:
1. The switch bracket has been installed on the shift
tray holder so that the switch bracket pushes up
the shift tray positioning roller even if the shift tray
is removed.

made on the shift tray holder. However, its part
number remains the same.

To minimize the possibility of this, the program of the ROM on the main control board has been modified

DETAIS OF MODIFICATION
To allow easier positioning of the main harness connector to the stapler connecto r in the fact ory, the spring connector
(AA063068, index 2 0) an d th e connector guide pin (54465 83 2, in de x 33) ha ve cha ng ed to M3 x 8 screws.
Before this modificatio n, the posit ion of th e con nector had to be adjusted to the joint connect or bracke t (A3 53 11 57, index
18) by adjusting the 4 screws. Now the position of the connectors can be adjuste d usin g on ly the 2 screws (index 120 ),
as per the modification. This is to allow easier positionin g of the connect ors.

DETAILS OF MODIFICATION
When a customer replaces the staple cartridge, if he force s t he st ap ler unit to rotate after it contacts the stapler
rotation bracket (A3532854) [A] the bracket will be bent and the unit will come off the guide rod. To prevent this,
the stapler un it stoppe r (A3532855) [B] and the pin (5 4031910) [C] have been added so that the stapler unit stops
rotating when it cont acts the pin [C]. Two holes have been adde d to the staple unit side plate to insta ll t he stap ler
unit stopper with two screws [D]. The part numbe r of th e mod ifie d sta ple unit sid e pla te (A 3532 60 1) [E ] ha s been
registered . The stapler rotation bracket [A] has been removed.
