DETAILS OF MODIFICATION
1. To facilitate servicing and assembing, the power pack has been changed so that it has been
unnecessary to install the ferrite shield (#16070407, Ferrite Core) on the PCC Cable.(The fer rite shield
has been used for the production machines from the first production to meet the VDE standards. )
2. To increase the margin against electrical noise, the material of the noise filter has bee n changed.
NOTE: The old ferrite core is still available for servicing.

DETAILS OF MODIFICATION
On the production line, paper misfeeds occured in the
inverter unit due to a wider than specified gap
between the upper inverter roller (called " Return
Drive Roller " in the service manual) and the left
inverter guide (LT; A0584070, A4; A0584060).
* This was because the shape of the left inverter
guide differed slightly from the design. To solve this
problem, a modified upper inverter roller has been
used for this lot. The diameter of this roller has been
increased from 22.0 ± 0.2mm to 23.5 ± 0.2mm to
decrease the gap mentioned above. Also, the roller is
made of a new material to improve the durability. As
the diameter of the rollers has been changed, the
standard value of the return pinch roller solenoid
adjustment has been changed. (See fig.3)
CAUTION: if you replace the left inverter guide (LT;
A0584070, A4; A0584060), please replace the upper
inverter roller with P/N 54464749 at the same time. If
you replace the upper inverter roller only , install P/N
A0589500.

DETAILS OF MODIFICATION
1) To prevent toner from building up on the oil supply pad, the pressure of the cleaning blade in t he
fusing unit has been increased. To increase the pressure, the screw hole of the fusing roller stay
(A) (the part number has not been changed.) has been widened and a philips pan head screw M5 x
25 (B) and an M5 washer (B) have been installed.
If do this modification in the field without replacing the fusing roller stay, refer to RTB-F21-0 13.
2) A different type of M4 stepped screw is used to secure the oil supply felt. This ensures that t he felt
absorbs oil better.

5. The PTC casing material has been changed from ordinary steel to stainless steel to reduce its
magnetic attraction.
6. The width of the mylar seal (# A0293936) in the PTC casing has been changed from 14mm to
12.5mm. (The part number remains the same.)

1. European versions:
A ferrite core (# 16070323) has been installed on the AC main harness as shown in the figure No.1.
2. USA and Canada versions:
A noise filter (# 16020897, NF102) and ferrite core have been added as shown in the figure No.2 (ne xt page).
At the same time, the electrical wires connecting to the NF101 has changed.

In the MB-F22-11, we informed you of the modification of the development sleeve front and rear seals (A0293073 →
A0583073, A0293074 → A0583074). However, we found a side effect of this modification and so we have not used the seals
(A0583073, A0583074) on any production machines, instead we have continued to use the seals (A029307 3, A0293074).
Against developer/toner drop from the development unit, we have confirmed that the other five items (1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 in
MB-F22-11) were effective without this seal modification.

DETAILS OF MODIFICATION
To prevent the connector of the fusing lamp harness from heating up, the location of the connector h as been changed to below the fusing
lamp. The length of the fusing lamp harness has been extended by 85mm and a new bracket (Index 72) has been added.
The connector of the old type harness was fixed by two screws (Index 113), but the new type is suppo rted by the harness clamps (Index 25).

DETAILS OF MODIFICATION
We have received reports from the field that very
occasionally pulley 38T (one way clutch) slipped from the
shaft of the fusing drive gear 53T so that a paper jam
occurred in the fusing unit.
Pulley 38T is now fixed by one hexagon headless set
screw instead of an E-ring. The one way clutch
mechanism has been removed from pulley 38T, so that the
pulley is better fixed to the fusing drive gear 53T.

MB-14 (F22) informed you that only the belt cleaner as a service part has been changed from the CFC type belt cleaner
(P/N 23000110) to a flammable type belt cleaner (P/N 22020001). However, the belt cleaner packed wi th the production
machine has not been changed, because flammable type cannot be packed in the machine due to the ship ping regulation.
Therefore, we have 2 kinds of belt cleaner in the field.
We have developed a new type of belt cleaner that does not include CFCs or flammable material. So, both the service part
belt cleaner and the belt cleaner packed in the machine have been changed to the new type, which is a detergent type.
