DETAILS OF MODIFICATION

If the DF harness is not routed properly, the rear cover may press the DF harness against the interface board when the rear cover is closed. This might cause the interface board connector to come off from the main board connector, which would clear RAM memory. To ensure the connection, the rubber cushion has been adhered on the main board as shown in the illustration.

NOTE: The DF harness must be routed correctly. Please refer to RTB No. 002 for the details.

DETAILS OF MODIFICATION

The PG gap is preset with special tools at the factory and the screws securing the drum support plat e and front drum side plate are paint locked. Basically, those parts should not be removed except when they are being replaced. To make part replacement easier, the service parts have been changed as follows:

The drum support plate assembly, consisting of the drum side plate and the front drum side plate, ha s been registered as a service part instead of the component parts. (For the details, please refer to RTB #4.) The drum support plate an d the front drum side plate are no longer abailable as service parts.

NOTE: • Do not loosen or remove the screws [A] which are paint locked.

• Two screw holes [B] have been added to the drum side plate so that the drum support plate assembly can be replaced.

When thick paper is fed from the paper tray, the turn guide plate is pressed by the paper and may sw ing out. This causes paper misfeed. To prevent thick paper from being misfed, the magnet catches and front and rear guide plate holders have been changed to increase the power of the magnet catch. To make servicing easier, the shape of the turn guide plate hinge has been changed as shown.

1) Operation panel board

• To minimize display malfunction, 8 diodes have been added to the operation panel board. (See Fig. 1)

• To make controlling parts easier, part numbers of the operation panel boards for each destination have been registered. (See Table 1)

DETAILS OF MODIFICATION

2) Operation panel cover

• If the operation panel cover is pressed down around the sort key area, the copier may accept th e

sort mode by error because of a warped cover. To prevent the cover from warping, a rib has been added to hold the operation panel cover to the main frame.

3) Insulating mylar (220/240V only)

• It was found that the insulating mylar is not necessary, even from the view point of safety s tandard

regulators. The insulating mylar has been eliminated.
