DETAILS OF MODIFICATION
The front and rear registration roller bushings are cracked in the production line.
To increase strength of the bushings, their shapes have been changed as shown in the illustration.
Due to the shape change of the bushings, the stepped screw securing the bushings has been also changed.
When replacing the bushings with new ones, the bushing and the stepped screw should be replaced at the same
time.

DETAILS OF MODIFICATION
To prevent blurred images that occurred at the factory, a disk (Index No. 45) has been
added to the scanner motor pulley. The blurred images may occur when the reproduction
ration is changed to around 150%. This problem is the result of resonance in the drive
section caused by the excitation frequency of the scanner motor. The disk dissipates the
resonance in the scanner drive section.

DETAILS OF MODIFICATION
To reduce the variation of the PG gap (gap between the drum and development roller)
on each machine, the bias terminal, drum support plate, and front drum side plate have
been modified.
NOTE:
The PG gap is preset with special tools at the factory and this gap should not be
adjusted in the field. The positioning screws of each part are paint locked (white paint)
at the factory.

DETAILS OF MODIFICATION
After a paper sheet is fed from the paper tray, the registration rollers stop turning to
correct the skew. This creates a buckle in the sheet . When the registration rollers start
rotating again to feed the sheet, the buckle disappears and the paper strikes the turn
guide plate. The shape of the turn guide plate has been changed as shown so that the
sheet makes less noise when it strikes the turn guide plate.
The shape of the knob bracket has also been changed in this modification.
The old and new turn guide plates and knob brackets are not interchangeable unless
they are replaced as a set.

DETAILS OF MODIFICATION
If the copier is jarred or jolted while the scanner is moving, the 1st scanner will
move side to side and the exposure lamp may be damaged by the rear frame
and/or platen cover brackets.
To prevent exposure lamp damage under such conditions, a scanner stopper
has been added to the 1st scanner as shown below:
(The part number of the 1st scanner is not changed because the new type
only is stocked as a service part.)

DETAILS OF MODIFICATION
As the clamp (#11050230) is too small for the dc harnesses, it is difficult to set the
harnesses into the clamp.
It has been replaced by a larger clamp.
The hole [A] for the clamp on the key counter bracket has been extended from 3.5
mm (diameter) to 4.8 mm by this modification.
The old and new parts are interchangeable as a set. Please replace both the key
counter bracket and the clamp when replacing the bracket.

DETAILS OF MODIFICATION
Two washers [#64] are included in the accessories of the color unit to ensure correct operation
of the color detection mechanism. (Refer to MB #32 issued on February 28, ’91.)
To make servicing easier, the washer [#64] and screw [#116] are combined into one part
[#65] as shown in the following illustration.
This modification will be implemented at the factory after the old parts are out of the stock.
