There have been reports from the field of problems with dirty background caused by dust that accumulates in the optics area. We investigated, and decided to register as a service part a filter for the optics cooling fan entrance.

The part numbers and the installation method are as follows:

Installation Method

1. Remove the platen cover or DF unit if installed.

2. Remove the upper cover [A] (8 screws).

3. Affix the three filters to the back right side of the upper cover as shown below.  [B] … P/N A0249506 (2 pcs)   [C] … P/N A0249507 (1 pc) 
