Overview
One-Consol e Sun KVM Switch
The combination of Integra Console and a Sun KVM s witch of fers the
latest, most efficient way to control multiple Sun servers. The
ISM108 can control f rom 8 to 64 Sun s ervers wit h the I ntegra Console
or another set of console.
Adv anced keyboard and m ouse emulation technology ensures
trouble-free Sun s erver boot -up and seamless switc hing. Spec ial
f unction key s of a Sun keyboard are simulated by combo-key
operation on the Integra C onsole k ey board.
Two-Consol e Matri x Sun KVM Switch
The adv anced matrix Sun KVM switch, I SM2208, enables t wo
separate users to manage ov er eight s ervers with two sets of
keyboards, mice, and monitors simultaneously. W hen cascaded, it
can easily be expanded f or dual user ac cess of up to 32 s ervers with
simultaneous access.
High Vi deo Quality & Real DDC2 Compatibility
Integra Console' s TFT LCD display supports VGA resolution up t o
1024x768 without any degradation. The adv anced VGA c ircuit
design guarantees smooth and f licker-free switching f rom one s erver
to the other.
The switch automatically responds Sun servers with correc t DDC2
communication f or optimum resolution setting.

Casc ade (Mas ter/Sl ave) Configuration
You can connect a second lev el of one or more Sun KVM Switc hes t o
"PC 1"~”PC 8” po r t s of a Master unit. Cascade configuration
expands system ability allowing y ou to s elect serv ers connected to
the Master or Slaves. There is only one Master that connects to the
Integra Console directly operated by a user.
Once connected, Sun KVM Switches aut omatically conf igure
themselves to eit her Master or Slav e. Slaves of d if f e r e nt Sun KV M
Switch models can be mixed in cascade conf iguration as shown in
f igure 2.
Figure 2: A cascade Integra configuration
Throughout this manual, Master is the Sun KVM Switc h having its C-
36 connector connected to an Int egra Cons ole or having its LOCAL
port connected to a set of Sun k eyboard, mouse and monit or. Slav e is
a Sun KVM Switch with its CONSOLE port connec ted to “PC x ” port
of a Master. Slave only ex ists in c ascade conf iguration.

Hot-key commands are short keyboard s equences to select a server,
to activ ate serv er scan, etc. A Sun KVM switch interprets keystrokes
f or hot-k eys all the time. A hot-key sequence s tarts with t wo lef t
<CTRL> keystrokes f ollowed by one or two more keystrokes. A short
beep indicates a correc t hot-key command, or a long beep follow ed by
a short one indicates an error (the bad k ey sequence will not be
forwarded to the selected serv er).
■ To select a s erver, you m ust know whic h port it is c onnected to.
For a serv er connec ted to a Master, its port num ber is repres ented by
the PC port label (1~8). For a serv er connec ted to a Slave, two digits
represent its port number. The f irst digit is the port number of the
Master unit (1~8) and t he sec ond one is the port number of the Slav e
(1~8).

■ To s t ar t Auto Scan, aut omatically scan powered-on serv ers one
by one at a f ixed int erval:
left Ctrl + left Ctrl + F 1
When Auto Scan detects any key board or mouse act ivity, it suspends
the scanning and resets the count down timer until activity stops; it
then resumes with t he next serv er in sequenc e. The length of the
Auto Scan interval (Sc an Rate) is adjustable, see below. To abort
the Auto Scan mode, press the left Ctrl key twice.
▓ To adjus t Scan Rate whic h sets t he duration before switching t o
the next serv er in Auto Scan:
