Intended Use
The mask directs air ow noninvasively to a user from a positive airway pressure
device such as a continuous positive airway (CPAP) or bilevel system.
The mask is intended for:
• adult users (>30 kg) for whom positive airway pressure has been prescribed
• single user re-use in the home environment and multipatient re-use in the
hospital/institutional environment.
Using the Mask
• Refer to the Technical speci cations section in this user guide for mask setting
options.
• Follow the instructions provided by your physician or sleep therapist.
• To t your mask, follow the instructions in the Fitting section.
• Do not overtighten the headgear straps. If you feel air-leaks you may need to:
– re t or reposition your mask
– adjust your headgear
– check that your mask is assembled correctly
– contact your physician or sleep therapist to have your mask re tted.
• Mask-speci c user guides are available on www.resmed.com on the Products
page under Service & Support. They are also available from ResMed upon
request.
The mask system does not contain latex, PVC or DEHP materials.

Table” on ww w.resmed.com on the Products page under Service & Support.

Cleaning the Mask at Home
• The mask and headgear can only be handwashed. The headgear may be
washed without removing the headgear clips.
• Take care when cleaning to avoid damage or loss of components.
Daily/After Each Use
• To optimise mask seal, remove facial oils from the cushion before use.
• Do not soak the mask.
• Handwash the mask by rubbing gently in warm (30°C) water using mild soap
or diluted dishwashing detergent.
• Rinse all components well with drinking quality water and allow them to air dry
out of direct sunlight.
• If the vent is blocked, clean it using a soft bristle brush.
Weekly
Handwash the headgear in warm (30°C) water using mild soap or diluted
dishwashing detergent. Rinse well and allow it to air dry out of direct sunlight.

Storage
Ensure that the mask is thoroughly clean and dry before storing it for any length
of time. Store the mask in a dry place out of direct sunlight.
Disposal
The mask does not contain any hazardous substances and may be disposed of
with your normal household refuse.

Warnings
• The vent holes must be kept clear.
• A mask should not be used unless the device is turned on. Once the mask is
tted, ensure the device is blowing air.
• Follow all precautions when using supplemental oxygen.
• Oxygen ow must be turned o when the PAP device is not operating so
that unused oxygen does not accumulate within the device enclosure and
create a risk of re.
• At a xed ow rate of supplemental oxygen ow, the inhaled oxygen
concentration varies depending on the pressure settings, user breathing
pattern, mask, point of application and leak rate.
• If any visible deterioration of a mask component is apparent (cracking, tears,
etc), the mask component should be discarded and replaced.
• Avoid connecting exible PVC products (eg, PVC tubing) directly to any part
of the mask. Flexible PVC contains elements that can be detrimental to the
materials of the mask, and may cause the components to crack or break.
• Do not use aromatic-based solutions or scented oils (eg, eucalyptus or
essential oils), bleach, alcohol or products that smell strongly (eg, citrus) to
clean any of the mask components. Residual vapours from these solutions
can be inhaled and may also damage the mask, causing cracks.
• Your physician or sleep therapist is responsible for ensuring that the mask
is compatible with the device. If used outside speci cation or if used with
incompatible devices, the seal and comfort of the mask may not be e ective
and optimum therapy may not be achieved.
• Do not combine components from di erent mask systems.
• Discontinue using the mask and consult your physician or sleep therapist if
you have ANY adverse reaction.
• Using a mask may cause tooth, gum or jaw soreness or aggravate an
existing dental condition. If symptoms occur, consult your physician or
dentist.
• As with all masks, some rebreathing may occur at low CPAP pressures.

• Refer to your CPAP or bilevel device manual for details on its settings and
operational information.
• This mask should be disinfected and/or sterilised when used between users.
• Remove all packaging before using the mask.

within the European Union.

The mask contains passive venting to protect against rebreathing.

Verwendungszweck
Die Maske führt dem Benutzer Luft von einem PAP-Gerät wie z. B. einem CPAPoder Bilevel-Gerät auf nicht-invasive Weise zu.
Die Maske ist für:
• Erwachsene (>30kg), denen positiver Atemwegsdruck verschrieben wurde,
vorgesehen.
• für den wiederholten Gebrauch durch einen einzelnen Patienten zu Hause
sowie durch mehrere Patienten im Krankenhaus oder in der Schlafklinik
vorgesehen.
Verwendung der Maske
• Die Maskeneinstelloptionen nden Sie in dieser Gebrauchsanweisung im
Abschnitt „Technische Daten“.
• Befolgen Sie die Anweisungen Ihres Arztes oder Schlaftherapeuten.
• Befolgen Sie zum Anlegen Ihrer Maske die Anweisungen im Abschnitt
„Anpassung“.
• Ziehen Sie die Kopfbänder nicht zu fest an. Bei Leckagen müssen Sie eventuell:

– die Maske neu anpassen oder ihren Sitz korrigieren.
– das Kopfband verstellen.
– überprüfen, ob Ihre Maske richtig zusammengebaut ist.
– sich an Ihren Arzt oder Schlaftherapeuten wenden, um die Maske neu
anzupassen.

Die Maske ist latex-, PVC- und DEHP-frei.

Reinigung der Maske zu Hause
• Die Maske und das Kopfband müssen von Hand gewaschen werden. Zum Waschen
des Kopfbands müssen die Kopfband-Clips nicht entfernt werden.
• Gehen Sie bei der Reinigung vorsichtig vor, um Beschädigungen und Verlust von
Komponenten zu verhindern.
Täglich/Nach jedem Gebrauch
• Um einen optimalen Sitz der Maske zu erreichen, müssen vor der Verwendung
Hautfette vom Maskenkissen entfernt werden.
• Weichen Sie die Maske nicht ein.
• Reiben Sie die Maske vorsichtig mit der Hand in einer warmen Seifenlauge
(30°C) ab. Verwenden Sie dazu eine milde Seife oder ein verdünntes
Geschirrspülmittel.
• Spülen Sie alle Teile gründlich mit Trinkwasser ab und lassen Sie sie vor
direktem Sonnenlicht geschützt an der Luft trocknen.
• Reinigen Sie verstopfte Ausatemö nungen mit einer weichen Bürste.
Wöchentlich
Waschen Sie das Kopfband mit der Hand in einer warmen Seifenlauge (30°C).
Verwenden Sie dazu eine milde Seife oder ein verdünntes Geschirrspülmittel.
Spülen Sie das Kopfband gut ab und lassen Sie es vor direktem Sonnenlicht
geschützt an der Luft trocknen.
