Installing
PF1-500, PF1-500R & PF2-500R Ampli ers
Photos of the CFX101LA were used in
these instructions. The procedure for
installing these ampliers into CFX121
and CFX151 loudspeakers is nearly the same. The difference is that they have a
Crossover Network mounted in the bottom of the cabinet instead of a rear mounted
Balance Control.
Step 1
Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws holding the connector plate in
place and carefully remove the connector
plate. Save the screws. You’ll need them to install the amplier.
Step 2.
Disconnect the 2-pin white connector from the connector plate by squeezing the sides
of the connector and pulling. Set the connector plate aside.
Step 3
If you are installing a PF2-500R bi-amplier, you will need to bypass the Balance Control and connect the amplier’s outputs
directly to the transducers. Remove the
screws holding the Balance Control plate in place and set them aside. You’ll need
them to reinstall the Balance Control plate.
If you are installing a PF1-500 or PF1-
500R amplier, you do not need to remove
the Balance Control so you can skip this step and proceed directly to Step 7.
Step 4. Remove the Balance Control plate from the cabinet.
Step 5.
Disconnect the white 4-pin connector from the Balance Control (Crossover Network) by squeezing the sides of the connector and
pulling.
Step 6.
If you are installing a PF2-500R bi-amplier, connect the white 4-pin connector to the amplier.
Note that this bypasses the Balance Control (Crossover Network) and it no longer will have any effect on the loudspeakers performance.
Step 7. If you are installing a PF1-500 or PF1-500R
amplier, connect the white 2-pin connector to the amplier.
Note that this keeps the Balance Control
(Crossover Network) in the audio path.
Step 8.
Carefully slide the amplier into the cabinet and use the Phillips head screws to secure it
in place.
Step 9.
If you are installing a PF2-500R bi-amp-lier
into a CFX101LA, reinstall the Balance Con- trol plate and secure it into place.
