Intended use
The midpoint presenter is designed to point out details on objects and display boards. It
features a keyboard function and is powered by a built-in lithium rechargeable battery. The
USB dongle is powered via the USB interface. Do not use any other power source. The USB
dongle that comes with the midpoint presenter can be used to control a range of functions for
presentation software.
This product is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture (e.g.
in bathrooms) must be avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. Using the
product for purposes other than those described above may damage the product. In addition,
improper use can cause hazards such as a short circuit or re. Read the instructions carefully
and store them in a safe place. Only make this product available to third parties together with
its operating instructions.

b) Laser
• When operating the laser equipment, always make sure that the laser beam is
directed so that no one is in the projection area and that unintentionally reected
beams (e.g. from reective objects) cannot be directed into areas where people
are present.
• Laser radiation can be dangerous if the laser beam or its reection enters
unprotected eyes. Before using the product, familiarise yourself with the statutory
regulations and instructions for operating this type of laser device.
• Never look into the laser beam or point it at people or animals. Laser radiation can
seriously damage your eyes.
• If laser radiation enters your eyes, close your eyes immediately and move your
head away from the beam.
• If your eyes have been irritated by laser radiation, do not continue to carry out
tasks with safety implications, such as working with machines, working from
heights or working close to high voltages. Do not drive any vehicles until the
irritation has completely subsided.
• Do not point the laser beam at mirrors or other reective surfaces. The uncontrolled,
reected beam may strike people or animals.
• Never open the device. Conguration or maintenance tasks must only be
completed by a trained specialist who is familiar with the potential hazards.
Improper maintenance work may result in dangerous laser radiation.
• The product is equipped with a class 2 laser. Laser signs in different languages
are included in the packaging. If the sign on the laser is not in your local language,
attach the appropriate sign to the laser.

Safety instructions

a) General information
• The product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a
dangerous toy for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high
humidity, moisture, ammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and
protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed
if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height may
damage the product.
• Always observe safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are
connected to the product.
• Consult a technician if you are not sure how to use or connect the product, or if
you have concerns about safety.
• Maintenance, modications and repairs must be done by a technician or an
authorized repair center.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions,
contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.
• Caution: Using equipment or procedures other than those described in these
instructions could lead to exposure to dangerous radiation.
c) Rechargeable batteries
• The battery is integrated into the product and cannot be changed.
• Never damage the battery. Damaging the casing of the rechargeable battery may
cause it to explode or catch re!
• Never short-circuit the battery contacts/connections. Do not throw the battery or
the product into open ames. This may cause a re or explosion!
• Charge the battery regularly, even when you are not using the product. You do not
need to discharge the battery before recharging it.
• Never leave the battery unattended when it is charging.
• Place the product on a heat-resistant surface when charging the battery. The
product may become warm when the battery is charging.

Setup
a) Charging the internal battery
Charge the battery before using the product for the rst time.
The LED indicator (3) ashes red when there is insufcient battery power remaining. When this
occurs, follow the steps below to recharge the battery:
• Insert the micro USB plug on the USB cable into the micro USB charging port (1) on the
product.
• Connect the USB-A connector on the micro USB cable to a USB port on a computer or
another suitable USB power source, such as a USB power adapter.
• The LED indicator (3) will ash red/blue to indicate that the battery is charging. After a few
minutes, the LED indicator will switch to constant blue to indicate that the battery status
is no longer critically low. Depending on the remaining battery level, the battery takes
approximately 2 hours to charge.
• An overcharging function prevents the battery from overcharging. Charging stops
automatically when the battery voltage is greater than 4.25 V.
• Disconnect the product from the USB power source when the battery is fully charged. The
device is now fully charged and ready for use.
b) Connecting the midpoint presenter to a computer/presentation program
• The midpoint presenter supports the button (previous page)/ button (next page), Start/
ESC, Black Screen and volume buttons with MS Powerpoint, Apple® Keynote and Google
Slides. In Google Slides you can only use the (previous page), (next page) and ESC
buttons.
• Remove the USB dongle (10) from the midpoint presenter.
• Connect the USB dongle (10) to a USB port on the computer that you want to use to control
the presentation.
• Launch your presentation software. Open the desired presentation le.
The power supply is automatically switched off when the USB dongle (10) is inserted
into the midpoint presenter.
c) Button functions
• Press and hold the laser button (4) to switch the laser on. Release the laser button to switch
the laser off. The LED indicator (3) turns red when the laser is switched on.
• Use the button (previous page) (6) to go to the previous page in the presentation.
• Use the button (next page) (8) to go to the next page in the presentation.
• Use the Play/ESC button (9) to start or stop a presentation.
• Press the + button (5) (increase volume) to increase the volume of the connected device.
• Press the - button (decrease volume) (7) to reduce the volume of the connected device.
d) Switching channels/re-establishing the wireless connection
You only need to perform this step when the wireless connection between the laser pointer and
the computer (via the USB dongle (10)) is interrupted. Proceed as follows:
• Insert the USB dongle (10) into the USB port on your computer within the 20-second standby
time.
• Press the (previous page) (6) and (next page) (8) buttons at the same time for about 2
seconds until the red LED indicator ashes twice.
• This indicates that the connection has been successfully re-established.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be placed in household
waste. At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant
statutory regulations.
