37MT™ & 41MT™ SIDE GROUND TERMINAL REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS

This ground terminal replaces one of the pole shoe screws on starter models that require a ground terminal on the side of the
frame.

WARNING!!! ALWAYS USE PROPER EYE PROTECTION WHEN PERFORMING ANY MECHANICAL REPAIRS TO A VEHICLE –

INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY INSTALLATION AND OR REPAIRS TO THE DELCO REMY STARTING MOTORS.
FAILURE TO USE PROPER EYE PROTECTION CAN LEAD TO SERIOUS AND PERMANENT EYE DAMAGE.

Only perform the mechanical functions that you are properly qualified to perform. Mechanical repairs that are beyond your technical
capabilities should be handled by a professional installation specialist.

FOLLOW ENGINE AND/OR VEHICLE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY WHEN REMOVING AND INSTALLING
THE STARTER.

DANGER!!! ALWAYS DISCONNECT BATTERY GROUND BEFORE REMOVING OR REPLACING CABLES AT THE STARTER.

FAILURE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY GROUND CABLE CAN LEAD TO SERIOUS INJURY.
PROCEDURES FOR REPLACING OR CHANGING THE LOCATION OF THE SIDE GROUND TERMINAL

1. Remove vehicle leads connected to the starter, noting their positions for reinstallation, and remove starter.

2. Remove and dispose of the side ground terminal.

3. Install new side ground terminal and torque to 20.3-27.1 Nm (15-20 lb ft).

4. If changing location of the side ground terminal, remove a pole shoe screw from the desired location and exchange places with the

parts. Check the condition of sealing features and consider replacing with new part assemblies if damaged or excessively worn.

5. Install the pole shoe screw and torque to 20.3-67.8 Nm (15-50 lb ft).

6. Install the side ground terminal and torque to 20.3-27.1 Nm (15-20 lb ft).

7. Reinstall starter and connect cables and other leads, as removed.

8. Reconnect the negative (-) cable at the battery

INSTRUCCIONES DE REEMPLAZO DE LA TERMINAL LATERAL DE TIERRA 37MT™ Y 41MT™

Esta terminal de tierra reemplaza uno de los tornillos de la zapata polar en los modelos de motor de arranque que requieran una
terminal de tierra en un lado de la carcaza.

¡¡¡PRECAUCIÓN!!!!USE SIEMPRE PROTECCIÓN OCULAR CUANDO REALICE CUALQUIER ACTIVIDAD RELACIONADA CON LA

REPARACIÓN MECÁNICA A UN VEHÍCULO, INCLUYENDO, MÁS NO LIMITANDO A CUALQUIER REPARACIÓN O INSTALACIÓN
DE MOTORES DE ARRANQUE DELCO REMY. OMITIR EL USO DE PROTECCIÓN OCULAR APROPIADA PUEDE RESULTAR EN
DAÑOS Y LESIONES PERMANENTES A LOS OJOS.

Ejecute solamente las funciones mecánicas que está apropiadamente calificado para realizar. Las reparaciones mecánicas que se
encuentran fuera de sus capacidades técnicas deben ser manejadas por especialistas profesionales de instalación.

¡¡¡PELIGRO!!! SIEMPRE DESCONECTE EL CABLE NEGATIVO (-) DE BATERÍA ANTES DE REMOVER O REEMPLAZAR LOS

CABLES EN LA MARCHA. UNA FALLA AL DESCONECTAR EL CABLE DE TIERRA PUEDE LLEVAR A LESIÓN SERIA.

1. Remueva los cables y arneses conectados al motor de arranque, identificando las posiciones para su re-instalación y remueva el
motor de arranque.

2. Remueva y disponga de la terminal de tierra lateral.

3. Instale la nueva terminal de tierra lateral y apriete a 20.3-27.1 Nm (15-20 lb ft).

4. Si la terminal de tierra necesita cambiar de posición, remueva el tornillo de la zapata polar de la ubicación deseada e intercambie
de lugar las partes. Verifique la condición del sello y considere su reemplazo por una parte nueva si se encuentra dañado o con
desgaste excesivo.

5. Instale el tornillo de la zapata polar y apriete a 20.3-67.8 Nm (15-50 lb ft).

6. Instale la nueva terminal de tierra lateral y apriete a 20.3-27.1 Nm (15-20 lb ft).

7. Reinstale el motor de arranque y conecte lo cables y otras terminales, como fueron removidos.

8. Reconecte el cable negativo (-) al acumulador.
