Remote Audio's EXTRA LiFe 20 (EL20) is a supplemental Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery module designed to be used
with the MEON LiFe cart power system. The EL20 contains a 20 Amp-hour internal battery which effectively doubles the available
capacity of the system, giving you twice the run time of a stand-alone MEON LiFe.

Mounting the Extra LiFe

The rack ears on the EL20 can be removed and re-positioned to allow for front or rear mounting. The EL20 does not require any
ventilation space and therefore can be mounted in any position. However, when racking the EL20 with your MEON LiFe, we
recommend placing the EL20 below your MEON LiFe to keep the MEON’s vents unobstructed and allow for adequate ventilation.

Connections

Using the 4-pin XLR cable* included with the EL20, connect the
EXTRA LiFe’s female XLR output to the MEON LiFe's "DC
INPUT" port.

Additional EXTRA LiFe units may be added by daisy-chaining
their inputs and outputs.

* The included cable is specially wired with pins 1 & 2 (-) and
pins 3 & 4 (+) connected together to maximize current transfer
and minimize voltage loss. Do not use it to connect gear that
isn't designed to accept voltage on pins 2 and/or 3.

Charging

The MEON LiFe's internal battery charger will charge the EL20 simultaneously with the MEON LiFe's battery as shown by the
MEON LiFe's ‘CHARGE STATUS’ indicator. Note that charging time will increase due to the increased battery capacity. The EL20
can be contiuously charged by the MEON LiFe without risk of damage. See the MEON LiFe user guide for more information.

The EL20 may also be charged by a two-stage lead acid battery charger with a 10A recommended max current. Charging the
EL20 with any other type of battery charger is not recommended and damage resulting from improper charging will not be covered
under warranty.

Storing the Extra LiFe

If you intend to store the EL20 for more than a few weeks, we recommend fully charging the unit prior to storage. Storing the EL20
with a partially discharged battery can shorten the lifespan of the battery. Storing the EL20 for more than three months without
charging is not recommended.
