Introduction
About the Red-M Blade
The Red-M Blade is a simple and innovative accessory that adds
a new level of flexibility to your Palm
TM
Vx handheld. Whether
you are in the office or on t he road you can enjoy hass le-free,
wireless connection to personal, corporate and public data.
TM
With a Red-M Blade and a Bluetooth
enabled mobile phone,
you can access the Internet, and send and receive email. The
connection is cable- free and there is no longer any need to
carefully line up your P alm Vx handheld with your mobil e phone
or PC to achieve a line-of-sight, infrared connection.
You can perform a wireless HotSync
®
operation to your laptop
via your Red-M Blade instead of the usual Palm cradle. When
away from the office, you can perform a remote HotSync
operation via your mobile phone. The Red-M Blade also enables
you to interact with other Bluetooth-enabled Palm Vx handhelds.
If your office has Bluetooth infrastructure installed, you can use
your Palm Vx with the Red-M Blade attached in meeting rooms
and other Bluetooth enabled areas to maintain connection to the
corporate intranet o r Internet, to send and receive emai ls, and to
update your calendar.

Getting started
To use your Red-M Blade, do the foll owing:
1. Install the software
For instructions on ho w to install Red-M Blade so ftware on
your Palm Vx, see Installing the Red-M Blade software on
page 11.
2. Attach the Red-M Blade
For instructions on how to attach the Red-M Blade, see
Attaching the Red-M Blade on page 12.
3. Configure your Palm Vx for Bluetooth services
Configure the software to connect with any or all of the
following Bluetooth-enab le d devices:
• a mobile phone for access to the Internet or to perform
remote HotSync operations with your computer via your
corporate network (where you have a remote access
dial-up facility). For instructions, see Configuring a
connection to the Internet vi a a mobile phone on page
14 and Configuring a remote HotSync operation via a
mobile phone on page 27.
• a laptop computer or PC to perform HotSync o perations.
For instructions, see Configuring a HotSync operation
with a computer on page 23.
• an Access Point on your local area network (LAN) for
connection to LAN intranet and Internet services and to
perform HotSync operations with a designated comp uter.
For instructions, see Configuring a Bluetooth-enabled
LAN connection on page 21 and Configuring a HotSync
operation via a Bluetooth-enabled LAN on page 25.
• another Bluetooth enabled Palm Vx handheld for playing

Red-M Blade overview
This section lists the Bluetooth services provided by the Red-M
Blade. It describes the additional options and menu items that
you will find on your Palm Vx handheld following installati on of
the Red-M Blade software. It also explains how to use device
categories and the information used when you con nect to the
Internet.
Bluetooth services
To enable the Red-M Blade to connect to a number of different
types of devices, Red-M software supports three Bluetooth
services:
• LAN Access
Use this service to connect to Bluetooth network
infrastructure.
• Dial-up Networking
Use this service to connect to a Bluetooth-enabled mobile
phone.
•Serial
Use this service to perform a HotSync op erat ion with a
computer or to connect to another Palm Vx handheld to play
games.
Additions to Palm Vx menus
When you have completed the software installation, you will find
some additional items on your Palm Vx handheld System, Prefs
menus.
•the option Bluetooth has been added to the
pick list in the upper-right corner of the
System, Prefs screen. From the Bluetooth
preferences screen you can set the default
device categories for each Bluetooth service
which enables you to automate your
Bluetooth conne c ti ons (see Managing
Bluetooth devic es below).

• four Blueto ot h co nnec t ion c onf ig ur at io n s (Bt
LAN Access, Bt Dial-up, Bt Serial and Bt
Serial Host) have been added to the
Available Configurations list on the System,
Prefs, Connections screen. Choose
Connections from the pick list described
above to access this screen.
• a new network service called Bt LAN Access
on the System, Prefs, Network screen
(choose Network from the pick list) . This is
the service that is use d to connect to a
Bluetooth-en abled local area ne twork.
Managing Bluetooth devices
Before your Red-M Blade can connect to any other Bluetooth
device it must first discover other Bluetooth devices within
range.
You can discover all Bluetooth-enabled devices within range of
your Red-M Blade by performing a ‘device discovery’. Once
discovered, you can move devices into categories such as
Phones, Computers and Access Points, for easy management and
automated con nection to each Bluetooth serv ic e.
Using categories
Each Bluetooth service (Dial-up, LAN access and Serial) has a
default device category assigned to it. Whenever a Bluetooth
connection is requested, your Palm Vx handheld will
automatically connect to a device in the Bluetooth service’s
default category. F or example, if you place your mobile phone
into the Phones category, you can specify that each time you
make a Bluetooth Dial-up networking connection, your Palm Vx
handheld shou ld connect to a device in the Phones category.
Similarly, if you put a Red-M Access Point into the Access Points
category, you can specify that each time your Palm Vx handheld
makes a LAN Access connection, it should connect to a device
from the Access Points category.

If a category contains multiple devices, the Red-M Blade will
connect to the first avai lable device. This is use ful if, for ex ample,
there are several LAN Access Points in your office to which you
can connect.

When you have installed the Re d- M Blade
software, the Phones, Access Points and
Computers categories will already be available
for you to use. You can add, delete and merge
categories as required using the Edit categories
option from the pick list on this screen.
Set the default device category for each Bluetooth service by using Bluetooth preferences
screen 1. You can also set the default device category to Prompt. If you do this, when the Palm
Vx handheld needs to make a Bluetooth connection, you will be asked whi c h ca te gory and/or
device to which you want to connect.
Palm network service settings
When an application (for example, a WAP browser) on the Palm
Vx handheld wants to use the network, the netw ork s ervice that
will be used to make the connection will be the service that is
displayed on the System, Prefs, Network screen.
Each network service has a Connection setting, which determines
the physical network connection used. Connections are managed
through the System, Prefs, Connection screen.
Red-M Blade software adds a network service setting called Bt
LAN Access, with Connection set to Bt LAN Access. This is the
network service that is used when you c onnect to Blu etooth LAN
Access Points.
If you are connecting to an intranet or the Internet via a
Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone, you must add a new network
service and set Connection to Bt Dial-up. For more information,
see Configuring a co nnection to the Inter net via a mobile phone
on page 14.
When a network se r vice using Bt LAN Access or Bt Dial-up
connection is used, the device used to make the conne c tion will

be one that is stored in the default device category for LAN
Access or Dial-up respectively.
Your System, Prefs settings determine which Bluetooth - enabled
device and which network service will be used to make the
connection. The diagram below illustrates how the information on
the Bluetooth and Network screens from System, Prefs settings
is used when internet connection is made.

Installing the Red-M Blade software
Before you begin
Before you begin, you will need:
• a Palm Vx handheld running Palm OS® 3.5.x or later. To find
out which version of the Palm OS
Applications icon then the menu icon , an d from th e App
menu choose Info, then tap Version. Upgrades for earlier
Palm OS versions are available from the P alm web site at
www.palm.com. Red-M Blade software is not compatible with
Palm V models.
• a PC running Microsoft Windows 95, 98, NT4, ME or 2000
Professiona l with a CD-ROM drive (for software insta llation).
Your PC must have P alm Vx Desktop software installed and
have the Palm cradle connected.
• a Red-M CD (supplied).

To install the Red-M Blade software
1. Insert the Red-M CD into your PC; the Red-M Blade install menu is displayed.
2. Click on Install Software for Red-M Blade. If more than one
Palm Vx user is installed on your PC, you will also need to
specify which user you wish to receive the files.
3. Click OK to exit the install menu.
4. Install the Red-M Blade software on your Palm Vx by
mounting the Palm Vx in its cra dle (without t he Red-M Bla de
attached) and performing a HotSync operation.
5. When the HotS yn c op er atio n co mpl etes , y ou w ill b e asked to reset your Palm Vx handheld. Do so.
Additional software on the Red-M Blade CD
Some additional Palm Vx applications have been included on the
Red-M Blade CD which you may wish to install on your Palm Vx
handheld to en ha nce your Blue tooth function ality and ease of
connection. Adobe Acrobat Reader is also included, which is a PC
application required to read the do cumentation that is on the CD .
To install any or all of these applications, select ‘Other Software’
on the Red-M Blade install menu, select your application and
then follow the on-screen instructions. Documentation for these
applications is included on the CD.

Attaching th e Red-M B la de
Before attaching the Red-M Blade, note down its Bluetooth
address, which is pr inted on its front. Depending on your
Bluetooth security settings, this may be required to identify the
Red-M Blad e when connect ing to Bluetoot h services.
The Red-M Blade has a 10-pin connector at the bottom, which is
identical to the one on your Palm handheld serial cradle. T o
attach the Red-M Blade, simply slide your Pa lm handheld onto
the Red-M Blade's connector as you wo uld for mounting in its
serial cradle. Once connected, push the Palm handheld back
towards the Blade until you hear a ‘click’.

Note: With the Red-M Blade attached, you can perform a
Bluetooth HotSync operation but not the usual serial HotSync
operation using the cradle. If you need to perform a serial
HotSync operation with the cradle attached, simply detach the
Blade from your Palm handheld. The Palm handheld will recharge
its batteries as normal when placed in the serial cradle with the
Red-M Blade attached.

Detaching the Red-M Blade
To detach the Red-M Blade, turn the unit over so that it is face
down, and push the latch at the back to the left to unclip the
Palm Vx handheld. Pull the Palm Vx handheld up and away from
the Red-M Blade.

Configuring a connection to the Internet via a mobile phone
Before you begin
Before you begin, you will need:
• a Palm Vx handheld with a Red-M Blade attached (see
page 12) and Red-M software installed (see page 11).
• a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone:
• if you have a Nokia 6210, see To configure your Pal m Vx
to connect to a Nok ia 6210 with bluetooth battery on
page 14.
• if you have and Ericsson T39m or R520m, see To
configure your Palm Vx to connect to an Ericsson T39m
or R520m on page 16.
• if you hav e any other Bluetooth-ena bled mobile phone,
see To configure your Palm Vx to connect to a mobile
phone on page 19.
• the Bluetooth address and passkey of your mobile phone.
This information may be print ed on the mobile phone’s
battery label, but the location varies with manufacturer. On
some mobile phones you choose your own passkey. Refer to
your mobile phone manual for more information.
• an ISP account user name, password and phone number.
To configure your Palm Vx to connect to a Nokia 6210 with bluetooth battery
Configuring your Pal m Vx handheld
1. On your Palm Vx handheld, perform a device
discovery:
i. Go to System, Prefs and select Bluetooth
from the pick list.
ii. Tap 2 ( ) to go to Screen 2 (shown);
ensure that the pick list selection is set to
All or Unfiled, and then tap Discover.
iii. The Red-M Blade w ill then find all
Bluetooth-enabled devices in range.
iv . Tap Stop to hal t the discovery proc es s.

2. Look for the Bluetooth address or name of
your mobile phone in the list of discovered
devices. Tap on this address or name to go
to the Device Information dialog (shown).
3. In the Device Info rmat io n di a l og, tap
-Not set- and enter the pas s key of your
mobile phone. Tap OK to close th e Bluetooth
Passkey dialog.
4. Tap Update. The Red-M Blade will retrie ve
the device name an d s er vice profiles
available; a tick should now be displayed
beside Dial-up Networking.
5. Tap OK to exit the Device Information dialog
and return to the list of discovered devices.
6. Move your mobile phone into the Phones
category:
i. Tap the checkbox to the left of the name
of your mobile phone.
ii. Tap Move; in the Move Selected Devices
dialog, select Phones from the drop-down
menu. Tap OK to accept the change and
close the dialog.
7. Tap 1 to go to Screen 1; ensure that the
Dial-up category is set to Phones.
8. Set up your ISP details: i. From the pick list in the top right-hand
corner, select Network, then tap the Menu
icon and tap New.
ii. Give the Service a name - ‘Freeserve’ for
example - and under User Name input the
name required by your ISP.
iii. Tap -Prompt- to enter the ISP password;
if you leave the password setting as
-Prompt- you will be asked to input the
password each time you connect.
iv . Set Connection as Bt Dial-up using the
drop-down list.
v. Enter the ISP phone nu mber in Phone.

Testing the connection
To test the connection, ta p Connect in the Network, Prefs screen.
Using the Internet
Now that the ISP and phone set up is complet e, when yo u use an
application that requires an Internet connection, the Red-M Blade
will automatic a ll y co ntact the mobile phone which will dial your
ISP and give you an Internet connection.
Note: If you subsequently change the network service selected
on the System, Prefs, Network screen (for example, if you
change to Bluetooth Bt LAN Access service that uses a LAN
Access Point on a corporate Bluetooth network), when you want
to connect to your mobile phone, you must reset the current
network service to the Bluetooth Dial-up service that you added
in the above procedure.
To end the Bluetooth session
To end the Bluetooth session and thereby terminat e the mobile
phone call, do one of the following:
• switch off the Palm Vx.
•use the Disconnect option (if one exists) in whichever
application you are using.
•go to System, Prefs, Network and tap the Disconnect button.
To configure your Palm Vx to connect to an Ericsson T39m or R520m
Connecting your Palm Vx handheld to your mobile phone
1. On your mobile phone, select Menu, Extras,
Bluetooth and Discoverable.
2. On your Palm Vx handheld, perform a device
discovery:
i. Go to System, Prefs and select Bluetooth
from the pick list.
ii. Tap 2 ( ) to go to Screen 2 (shown);
ensure that the pick list selection is set to
All or Unfiled, and then tap Discover.
iii. The Red-M Blade w ill then find all
Bluetooth-enabled devices in range.
iv . Tap Stop to hal t the discovery proc es s.

3. Look for the Bluetooth address or name of
your mobile phone in the list of discovered
devices. Tap on this address or name to go
to the Device Information dialog (shown).
4. In the Device Info rmat io n di a l og, tap
-Not set- and enter a passkey for your
mobile phone (a four figure numb er, for
example). Tap OK to close the Bluetooth
Passkey dialog.
5. On your mobile phone, select Menu, Extras,
Bluetooth. Select Paired devices, Add device,
and Phone accepts.
6. On the Palm Vx handheld, ensure yo ur
mobile phone is highlighted in the list of
discovered devices. From the Preferences
pick list, tap Connect. Your mobile phone will
display the prompt: Add to paired devices?.
7. On your mobile phone select Yes. Your
mobile phone will now prompt you for the
passkey that you entered on the Palm Vx
handheld earlier in this procedure.
8. On your mobile phone, enter the passkey
and select Yes. If pairing is successful, you
can now edit the name of your Palm Vx on
your mobile phone. Your mobile phone adds
your paired devices to the Paired List.
9. On your Palm Vx handheld, move your
mobile phone in to the Phones category:
i. Tap the checkbox to the left of the name
of your mobile phone.
ii. Tap Move; in the Move Selected Devices
dialog, select Phones from the drop-down
menu. Tap OK to accept the change and
close the dialog.
10. Tap 1 to go to Screen 1; ensure that the
Dial-up category is set to Phones.

11. Set up your ISP details: i. From the pick list in the top right-hand
corner, select Network, then tap the Menu
icon and tap New.
ii. Give the Service a name - ‘Freeserve’ for
example - and under User Name input the
name required by your ISP.
iii. Tap -Prompt- to enter the ISP password;
if you leave the password setting as
-Prompt- you will be asked to input the
password each time you connect.
iv . Set Connection as Bt Dial-up using the

ii. Tap 2 ( ) to go to Screen 2 (shown);
ensure that the pick list selection is set to
All or Unfiled, and then tap Discover.
iii. The Red-M Blade w ill then find all
Bluetooth-enabled devices in range.
iv . Tap Stop to hal t the discovery proc es s.

your mobile phone in the list of discovered

Configuring a Bluetooth-enabled LAN connection
Before you begin
Before you begin, you will need:
• a Palm Vx handheld with a Red-M Blade attached (see
page 12) and Red-M software installed (see page 11).
• configured Bluetooth infrastructure (for example, a Red-M
3000AS access server running software version 1.3 or later
with Access Points connected).
• the name or Bluetooth address of the Access Point or Access
Server to which you want to connect a nd the Blue t ooth
passkey if one is u sed. F or t h is i nforma tio n , ask y o ur syst em
administrator.
To configure your Palm Vx to connect to LAN Access infrastructure
1. On your Palm Vx handheld, perform a device
discovery:
i. Go to System, Prefs and select Bluetooth
from the pick list.
ii. Tap 2 ( ) to go to Screen 2 (shown),
ensure that the pick list selection is set to
All or Unfiled, and then tap Discover.
iii. The Red-M Blade w ill then find all
Bluetooth-enabled devices in range.
iv . Tap Stop to hal t the discovery proc es s.
2. In the list of discovered devices, look for the
name or Bluetooth address of each of the
Access Points to which you want to connect.
Access Points and Access Servers will be
categorized as LANs in this list. (Access
Servers are treated as Access Points in this
procedure.)

3. If your system administrator has given you a
Bluetooth passkey:
i. Tap the Access Point’s name to go to the
Device Information sc r ee n ( shown)
ii. Tap -Not set- and enter the passkey. Tap
OK to exit the Bluetooth Passkey dialog.
4. Move your Access Point into the Access
Points category:
i. Tap the checkbox to the left of the name
of your Access Point.
ii. Tap Move; in the Move Selected Devices
dialog, select Access Points from the
drop-down menu.
iii. Tap OK to accept the change and close
the dialog.
5. Tap 1. Ensure the LAN Access default
category is set to Access Points.
6. Set the Service type to Bt LAN Access: i. Select Network from the top right-hand
menu.
ii. Set the Service type to Bt LAN Access
using the drop-down list that appears on
this screen.
iii. The Connection selection should also be
Bt LAN Access.
Now that the Access Point set up is complete, when you use an
application that needs a network connection, the Red-M Blade
will automatically make a Bluetooth connection to an available
Access Point in the Access Points category and giv e you access to
the network.
Note: If you subsequently change the network service selected
when you go to System, Prefs, Network (for example, if you
change to a Bluetooth dial-up service that uses a mobile phone),
when you want to connect to an Access Point, you must reset the
current network service to Bt LAN Access.

Configuring Bluetooth HotSync operations
You can perform a Bluetooth HotSync operation with your
computer using your Red-M Blade in three different ways:
• from your R ed-M Blade directly to a Blue tooth-enab led laptop
or PC.
• from your Red-M Blade via an Access Point on a Bluetoothenabled LAN to a designated computer.
• from your Red-M Blade via a mobile phone connection to a
remote access server on your LAN.
Note: to perform a serial HotSync operation using the Palm
cradle, you must first detach the Red-M Blade from your Palm
Vx.
Configuring a HotSync operation with a computer
Before you begin
Before you begin, you will need:
• a Palm Vx handheld with a Red-M Blade attached (see
page 8) and Red-M software installed (see page 6).

To configure a HotSync operation with a computer
1. On your Palm Vx handheld, perform a device

i. Go to System, Prefs and select Bluetooth
from the pick list.
ii. Tap 2 ( ) to go to Screen 2 (shown),
ensure that the pick list selection is set to
All or Unfiled, and then tap Discover.
iii. The Red-M Blade w ill then find all
Bluetooth-enabled devices in range.
iv . Tap Stop to hal t the discovery proc es s.

your computer on the discovered devices
list.
3. If you are using Bluetooth authentication: i. Tap the computer’s address or name to
go to the Device Information dialog.
ii. Enter the pas s key here by tapping -Not
set-.

Information dialog.
4. Move your computer into the Computers
category:
i. Tap the checkbox to the left of the name
of your computer.
ii. Tap Move; in the Move Selected Devices
dialog, select Computers from the dropdown menu.
iii. Tap OK to accept the change and close
the dialog.
5. Tap 1. Ensure that the Serial Port default
category should be set to Computers.
6. Tap the Applications icon then the
HotSync icon .
7. Your HotSync settings should specify a local

that the HotSync Manager on your PC is configured to use same
serial port as your Bluetooth USB device. To check this, rightclick the HotSync Manager on your PC, select Setup and then the

Configuring a HotSync operation via a Bluetooth-enabled LAN
You can perform a HotSync operation from your Palm Vx
handheld (with Red-M Blade attached) via an Access Point on a
Bluetooth-enabled local area network (LAN) . The PC that your
Palm Vx will perform the operation with is specified as part of the
configuration process.
Before you begin
Before you begin, you will need:
• a Palm Vx handheld with a Red-M Blade attached (see
page 12) and Red-M software installed (see page 11).
• a computer with Palm Vx Desktop software installed and the
name and IP address of this computer, which should be
configured to allow networ k HotSync operations.
• configured Bluetooth infrastructure (for example, a Red-M
3000AS access server running software version 1.3 or later
with Access Points connected).
• to have completed the procedure to connect to LAN Access
infrastructure on pa ge 21.
To configure a HotSync operation via a Bluetooth-enabled
LAN
1. Go to System, HotSync. Tap Modem on the
HotSync screen to select the Modem tab.
2. Tap the Menu icon , select Modem Sync
Prefs, then choose Network and tap OK.

then choose LANSync and tap OK.
4. Tap the Menu icon , select Connection
Setup, ensure Bt LAN Access is selected in
the list and tap Done.

the IP address you have entered into the Primary PC Setup on
your Palm handheld.
Configuring a remote HotSync operation via a mobile phone
You can perform a HotSync operation from your Palm Vx
handheld (with Red-M Bla de attached) to a co m puter connected
to your company network, via a Bluetooth connection to your
mobile phone. This option will only be available if your company
network supports dial-up remote access.
Before you begin
Before you begin, you will need:
• a Palm Vx handheld with a Red-M Blade attached (see
page 12) and Red-M software installed (see page 11).
• a computer with Palm Vx Desktop software installed.
• a dial-up account on your company network.
• a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone.
• the Bluetooth address and passkey of your mobile phone.
Sometimes these are printed on the battery label. You will
need these before you can make a Bluetooth connection.

mobile phone on page 14 up to and includ ing

2. Set up your company dial-up details: i. Go to System, Prefs and from t he pick list

in place appropriate technical and organizational security measures
so as to ensure a level of security that is appropriate to the nature of
the data that is being processed. You may obtain further information

automatically terminate and you will be obligated to return to Red-M
or destroy all of such Software and to cease to use all of such Hardware;
• this Agreement will be governed by the laws of England and Wales,
other than its provisions concerning the applicability of laws of other
jurisdictions;
• this Agreement is the complete and exclusive statement of you r
agreement with Red-M with respect to the subject matter hereof and
supersedes all prior agreements or communications, written or oral.
If any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions of
this Agreement shall remain in full force and effect.

license agreem e n t are to be u tili ze d in contracts with or on be ha l f of th e
United States of America, its agencies, or its instrumentaliti es (the
"Government"), th e y s ha ll be co n side red and treated as "co m me r ci a l
computer software", as that term is de fine d in the De pa r tm ent of
Defense Federal Acquisition Regulati on Su pplement ("DFARS") Subpart
227.72. If the Governme n t is the lic e nse e , it sh a ll h ave on ly the rig h ts
specified in this license and shall have no greater rights than any other
licensee of the commercial computer software or commercial software
documentation.
Red-M Limited Warranty
Red-M warrants that under normal use and conditions the products listed
below will for the appropriate duration after the date of original purchase
from Red-M listed below (each a "Warranty Period") be free from defects
in materials and workmanship as follows:
Product Warranty

Red-M 3000AS 1 year
Red-M 1000AP 1 year
Software Media (if any) 90 days
THE SOFTWARE (OTHER THAN SOFTWARE MEDIA, IF ANY) IS PROVIDED
"AS IS" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY.
If you believe that you have discovered any covered defect during the
applicable Warranty Period, please contact your local authorized reseller
or distributor or, if they are unable to help you or you obtained the
product directly from Red-M, please contact your local Red-M office
directly. If Red-M, or the authorized reseller or distributor, instructs you
to return the product please return any Hardware together with the
accompanying Software media (including all copies of the Software) (or
just the Software media if no Hardware was supplied) freight prepaid to
either the authori zed res el le r or di st ribu to r fr om which i t wa s pur ch ased ,
or to Red-M, as instructed. Please note you may also be asked to provide
written documenta tion of yo ur purchase.
CUSTOMER REMEDIES:
Red-M's and its licenso rs ' , suppliers', res ell er s '
and distributors' entire liability to you, and your exclusive remedy will be,
at Red-M's option: (i) re pair or replacement of the Software media or
Hardware that does not m eet the Red-M Warranty, or (ii) return of the
price paid. All media and Hardware which is replaced will become the
property of Red-M. Replacem e nt pro du c ts may be n ew or re con d iti on e d.
Red-M will have no responsibility, warranty or other obligations
whatsoever as a result of: (a) th e use of the Hardware, Software media
and/or Software in a manner inconsistent with the accompanying
manuals and this Agree m ent, or (b) any modifications mad e to th e
Hardware or Software, or (c) failure of the Hardware, Software media or
Software as a result of accident, abuse or misapplication, or (d) use of
Hardware and Software with products not read ily commercially availa bl e
on the date of the original pur cha se . Red-M a nd its au thor ized
distributors or resellers are not re sponsible for any software, firmwa re,
information or data contained in, or stored on, any returned items.

NO OTHER WARRANTIES:
THE WARRANTIES SET FORTH ABOVE ARE
EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES. RED-M MAKES NO
OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND RED-M EXPRESSLY
DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO
IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF SATISFACTO RY QUALITY, MERCHANTABILITY
AND FITNESS FOR A PAR TICULAR PURPOSE AND ACCURACY AND ANY
WARRANTY OF NONINFRINGEMENT OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
RIGHTS. MOREOVER, THE PROVISIONS SET FORTH ABOVE STATE REDM'S ENTIRE RESPONSIBILITY AND YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY
WITH RESPECT TO ANY BREACH OF ANY WARRANTY.
THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT AFFECT ANY STA TUTORY RIGHTS THAT YOU
MAY HAVE IF YOU ARE A CONSUMER
LIMITATION ON LIABILITY; NO LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL
DAMAGES: UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE AND UNDER NO THEORY OF
LIABILITY WILL RED-M OR ITS LICENSORS, SUPPLIERS, RESELLERS OR
DISTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR COSTS OF PROCUREMENT OF
SUBSTITUTE PRODUCTS OR SERVICES, LOST PROFITS, LOST SAVINGS,
LOSS OF INFORMATION OR DATA, OR ANY OTHER SPECIAL, INDIRECT,
CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, ARISING IN ANY WAY OUT
OF THIS AGREEMENT OR THE SALE, LICENSE OR USE OF, OR INABILITY
TO USE, ANY RED-M PRODUCT (HARDWARE OR SOFT WARE) OR
SERVICE, EVEN IF RED-M HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF
SUCH DAMAGES, AND NOTWITHSTANDING ANY FAILURE OF ESSENTIAL
PURPOSE OF ANY LIMITED WARRANTY.
The warranties, limitations and remedies contained herein allocate risk of
Software, Hardware and media breach of warranty or other liability and
Red-M's prices reflect the allocation of such risk. Cert ain jurisdictions
restrict the ability to (a) exclude implied warranties, (b) limit or exclude
incidental or conse quential damages , or (c) lim it lia bi lity im po s ed un de r
product liability laws. T o the extent any such restrictions apply to you and
may not be waived, the foregoing limitations and exclusions may not
apply to you. If, notwithstand ing the a bove clau se s, Red-M is sub jec t to
any liability in connection with the Software or Hardware, whether arising
from negligence, b reach of contr act or ot herwise, R ed-M' s liabil ity wi ll not
exceed the sum paid by you to Red-M for the Hardware and/or Software
that did not comply with the Red-M Limited Warranty. This limitation does
not apply in the case of personal injury or death if and to the extent
prohibited by app lic ab le law.

jurisdictions may be registered trademarks, of Red-M (Communications)
Ltd. Bluetooth is a trademark owned by Bluetooth SIG Inc USA and used
by Red-M under license.
