READ THIS MANUAL FIRST BEFORE INSTALLING OR OPERATING YOUR
POWER LIFT AND RECLINE CHAIR.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: It is important that you read, understand and follow ALL safety instructions. Please keep the
safety instructions for future reference.
1) WARNING: Always check under and around the chair before lowering from a raised position to make
sure no children, household pets or objects are under the chair. Never allow children to operate or play
on, under or around the chair. Failure to clear the area under and around the chair before lowering
may result in serious bodily injury or property damage. Always store the controller out of reach of
children and unplug the chair to prevent children from using the controller.
2) WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock, always unplug the chair from the electrical outlet before
moving, cleaning or servicing.
3) WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock use the chair indoors in locations free of water. The chair
should never be used outdoors.
4) WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock, or property damage, never plug in, use or operate the
chair if the cord has been damaged or if the chair becomes wet. Do not use an extension cord with the
chair.
5) WARNING: Do not use the chair to store or support any items including, without limitation, televisions or
video equipment as such items can fall o the chair.
6) WARNING: The maximum weight limit of the chair is 350 pounds. Only allow one person to sit on or use
the chair and always sit on the bottom seat cushion only. Never sit on the back of the chair, arms or leg
rest. Using or operating chair with more than the maximum weight limit or sitting on a part of the chair
other than the bottom seat cushion could damage the chair and/or cause the chair to tip over.
7) WARNING: Do not operate chair near or around ammable gases, liquids or vapors. Failure to follow this
instruction may cause a re or explosion.

1) HAND CONTROL

standard electrical outlet to provide power to the lift chair,
may be equipped with an LED which will show green to

indicate power to the transformer.
3 LIFT MECHANISM PINCH POINT: Responds to the hand
control commands to position the chair in the sit and stand
positions. See pinch point warning for more information.

4) LEG LEVELERS 4: Manually rotate up or down to stabilize
the vchair before use.
ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS
Your lift chair is equipped with a low-voltage DC electrical system that reduces the standard household
alternating current of 100V AC-240V AC to direct current (29V DC). The electrical components include the
external transformer, batteries (not included), and hand control. Keep these areas free from moisture at all
times.

Assembly
Your lift chair requires assembly before initial use.
LIFT CHAIR SETUP
1. Align back brackets with mechanism posts.
2. Push rmly on the top of the back to lock into position. You must hear a snap from each side of the chair
to ensure the back is locked in properly.
3. Attach the chair back to the hook-and-loop aps on the bottom of the chair base.
NOTE: Pull up on the chair back to ensure that it is locked in place.
4. Align the male and the female brackets; slide the wing down into place. See Figure A.

Operation
LIFT CHAIR PLACEMENT
Your lift chair should be placed near a standard electrical outlet on dry, level ground where there is ample
room to allow for proper operation. We recommend that you have assistance when positioning the lift chair
to avoid the possibility of injury when lifting.
Follow these steps to position the lift chair in a safe manner:
1. Place the back of the lift chair 30 inches (76 cm) from the nearest obstruction while the chair is in the
seated position. This measurement may vary depending on the model.
2. Adjust the leg levelers to stabilize the lift chair.
3. Install the batteries into the external transformer.
4. Position the external transformer on the oor in an open, well-ventilated area where it will not be an
obstruction.
5. Position the low-voltage connection cable where it will not be pinched between the frame and the lift
mechanism.
6. Connect the low-voltage connection cable to the external transformer if it is not already connected.
7. Plug the power cord directly into the electrical outlet. Do not use an extension cord!

Operation
INSTALLATION OF BACK-UP BATTERIES (Batteries not included)
(2) 9 Volt back-up batteries will operate the chair from the reclined position to the seating position. The
batteries will operate one cycle in case of a power failure. If a power failure occurs and the chair is cycled,
the (2) 9 Volt batteries will need to be replaced after they are used once.
