This installation must be carried out by an electrician.
Please read these instructions carefully before installation.
Leave a copy for the user/maintenance engineer for future reference.

• Class II construction and must not be earthed.
• Switching Loads: 2000W resistive, 1100VA inductive
• Temperature range: -40° – 70°
• IP65 rated and suitable for external applications.
• Supply voltage: 230v / 240v AC rated.
• Power Consumption: 1.5VA Max
• CE Approved.
Important Installation Information
• Before installation or maintenance ensure that the
mains supply to the unit is switched off and the
circuit supply fuses are removed or circuit breaker
turned off.
• It is recommended that a qualified electrician is
consulted or used for the installation of this
photocell and installed to the current edition of the
IEE wiring regulations.
Installation Instructions
• Carefully choose the correcting position to install the
photocell considering the following guide lines:
• Where possible there should be a clear view of the sky.
• Be away from view of the light source the unit is to control.
• Securely fix the photocell through a 16mm clearance hole
using the 2 locking rings and ‘O’ rings which should be
positioned either side of the hole with the 2 ‘O’ rings closest
to the hole to form a water tight seal.
Guarantee
This product is guaranteed for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase. The guarantee is invalid in the case of improper use, tampering, removal of the Q.C. date label,
installation in an improper working environment or installation not according to the current edition of the I.E.E. Wiring Regulations (BS7671). The guarantee is also
invalidated if the luminaire has been Mega tested. Should this product fail during the guarantee period it will be replaced free of charge, subject to correct installation and
return of the faulty unit. We do not accept responsibility for any installation costs associated with the replacement of this product. If a PIR is used in conjunction with any Red
Arrow lighting product we do not accept any responsibility for premature failure of lamps or control gear. Your statutory rights are not affected. We reserve the right to alter
specifications without prior notice.
• Terminate the 3 cables obser ving the correct connections:
“BROWN” = Live (Supply In)
“WHITE” = Load (Supply Out)
“BLUE” = Neutral
Operation & Testing
• The photocell always powers up in the “On” status, if in
bright daylight it will switch off within 2 minutes, normal
operation will then resume.
• To test for correct operation cover the photocell, af ter a short
delay, 15-120 seconds, the photocell will operate and power
will be applied to the load. When the photocell is uncovered,
in bright daylight and after a similar delay time the photocell
will turn off power to the load.
Common Problems
• The Load stays on:
The photocell is in a shady or dark position.
The neutral is not connected.
• The Load is flashing, strobing or switching on and off
repeatedly through hours of darkness:
The photocell is too close to the light source it is
controlling.
“LIVE (BROWN)” & “LOAD (WHITE)” are
reversed.
