TROUBLE PROBABLE CAUSE REMEDY
Noisy operation 1. Incorrect belt tension 1. Adjust tension

and tighten if necessary

Drill bit burns 1. Incorrect speed 1. Change speed
2. Shavings not coming out of hole 2. Retract drill bit frequently to clear shavings
3. Dull drill bit 3. Re-sharpen drill bit
4. Feeding too slow 4. Increase the speed
