1 Charging
The DYI80W operates o wall power or batteries. If using batteries, we recom­mend fully charging the DYI80W before your rst use. It takes about 4hrs to charge.
1. Charging The DYI80W
A. Connect the battery - Connect the red
connectors of the battery & the device together.
B. Using the included USB cable, plug the
DYI80W into a computer USB port or a USB wall adapter.
C. Charging is indicated by a solid red light
in the antenna hole
D. When fully charged, the light will turn off

NOTE: To operate the DYI80W using wall
power (instead of batteries), just plug it in as if you were charging it.
2 Insert/Eject Micro SD Card
The DYI80W supports up to a 128GB micro SD card. The purpose of the SD card is to store the bulk of your surveillance footage. Without an SD card, you can still live stream video, get motion activated alerts, & record video clips to your iOS/Android device using the App (see section 6).
1. Insert A Micro SD Card
A. Insert a micro SD card into the card slot.
We recommend a class 10 card.
C. You will feel a click when the micro SD
card has been inserted correctly.

2. Remove The Micro SD card
A. Push the card in until you feel a spring
release, the card will eject when you let go.
3 Power On/O
1. Power On The DYI80W
CAUTION: When the device is powered on
the camera’s lens heat sink will heat up. This is normal.
A. Make sure a micro SD card is inserted. B. Slide the power switch to ON position.
2. Power O The DYI80W
A. Slide the power switch to OFF

4 Continuous/Motion
Detection Modes
The DYI80W can record in either continuous or in motion activation. The default mode is continuous; it will automatically start recording in this mode when it is initially powered on.
1. Continuous Recording
A. Make sure a micro SD card is inserted.
B. Slide the power switch to the ON
position.
C. The indicator light (next to charging port)
will light up blue for about 5 seconds & then turn OFF. After about 15 seconds, the light will turn back on for 20 seconds & then turn back OFF for 10 seconds. After the 10 seconds, it will begin flashing.

D. Once the blue light begins flashing
continuously, recording has begun.
NOTE: When the DYI80W is connected as
a Wi-Fi IP camera, the indicator light will no longer flash, but be a solid blue light. To turn off the indicator light, see section 9-2D.
2. Motion Detection Recording
Before changing the mode to motion detection, download & connect the camera to the RecorderGear App (See
sections 6-8).
A. After reading & completing sections 6-8
open the RecorderGear App.
B. Press the Camera Settings icon to
the right of the online camera on the Live
Video/Main Page & select Device Settings.

C. Select Recording Settings & tap Record.
D. Select Motion Detection
E. Select OK to save the settings.
F. Enter Alarm Settings & change the
Motion Detection Sensitivity to adjust it.
NOTE: Make sure you change the Motion
Detection Settings in the Alarm Settings. If
it’s DISABLED, your camera will NOT record in motion detection. (See section 11-1A)
3. Stop Video Recording
Slide the power switch to the OFF position.
NOTE: The DYI80W’s default video file
interval length is 3 minutes. To change the recording file length. (See section 11-3D)

5 Access Saved Recordings
There are two methods to access saved recordings
1. Remove The SD Card
A. Slide the power switch to OFF & remove
the micro SD card.
B. Insert the micro SD card into a card reader
& insert it into your PC.
C. Open the disk that appears on your PC.
NOTE: We recommend using VLC media
player to playback your files.
2. Use The RecorderGear App
(See section 8-3)
