Make your connection decision easier by taking a few minutes to review the jacks on
your new HDTV. Compare the jacks on the device you want to connect and see if the
same jacks are available on your HDTV. Then refer to the chart below to determine the
best connection to make.
For more information about connecting your HDTV to other devices, refer to Chapter 1
of the User’s Guide. Make sure you read the safety information provided at the beginning
of the User’s Guide before you connect and operate your TV.

Connect cable or an antenna to the TV’s ANTENNA/CABLE
ANALOG INPUT to receive analog channels. Connect an
additional antenna, if desired, to the TV’s ANTENNA DIGITAL
INPUT to receive off-air digital channels. Connect the cables as
shown in fi g.1 or fi g.2.
If you’re connecting a cable box or satellite receiver, use the
chart above to help determine which jacks to use for the
best connection. Your cable box or satellite receiver needs
to be high defi nition if you want to receive high defi nition
programming. Check with your cable provider for more
information.

Set Up Your TV
Make sure you have already connected your TV to devices and a signal source, plugged
in the TV, and put batteries in the remote.

Now, turn on the TV (the assisted setup automatically appears on-screen).
1. Set the Menu Language. Press OK to select English and continue to the next step or
press the down arrow button to choose another language, then press OK (a welcome
screen appears. Continue to press OK until Channel setup appears).
2. Set the Signal Source. Did you connect a signal to both the ANTENNA/CABLE
ANALOG and ANTENNA DIGITAL inputs? If you didn’t, go to step 2A. If you did, the
option Both is chosen for you. Highlight Analog Signal type. Go to step 3.
A. Did you connect a signal to only the ANTENNA/CABLE ANALOG INPUT? If you
didn’t, go to step 2B. If you did, press the right arrow to choose Analog Tuner.
Highlight Analog Signal type. Go to step 3.
B. Did you connect a signal to only the ANTENNA DIGITAL INPUT? If you didn’t, go to
step 3. If you did, press the right arrow to choose Digital Tuner. Highlight Auto channel
search. Go to step 4.
3. Set the Analog Signal type.
A. Did you connect cable to the ANTENNA/CABLE ANALOG INPUT? If you didn’t, go to
step 3B. If you did, the option Cable is chosen for you. Highlight Auto channel search.
Go to step 4.
B. Did you connect an antenna to the ANTENNA/CABLE ANALOG INPUT? If you didn’t,
go to step 4. If you did, press the right arrow to choose UHF/VHF Antenna. Press the
down arrow button to highlight Auto channel search.
4. Search Channels. With Auto channel search highlighted, press OK to begin the
channel search. Once the search is complete, the Channel setup menu remains on
screen. Press MENU to go to the Setup menu. Press the down arrow button to highlight
Convergence and press OK.

5. Run Auto convergence . Press OK to run auto convergence in order for the TV to
display an optimum picture. When auto convergence is in progress, red, green and
blue squares move at various points on the screen. Once it’s complete, the Red center
convergence menu appears

of the screen. If you see a red and green cross, similar to fi g.1, use the arrow buttons
until the crosses disappear, as shown in fi g.2, to make a yellow cross. Follow the
instructions on screen. Press OK when complete. The Blue center convergence menu
appears.
• Adjust Blue center convergence. Look closely at the cyan cross. If you see a blue
and green cross, use the arrow buttons until the crosses disappear to make a cyan cross.
Follow the instructions on screen. Press OK when complete. Now you’re ready to watch
TV.

Turning On Your TV
Pressing the TV button puts the remote in TV mode and turns on the TV. To turn off your
TV, press the ON•OFF button.

Changing Channels
• If you’re using both the ANTENNA and CABLE inputs, press the ANT•CABLE button to
switch between viewing channels on the inputs.

• Depending upon the type of signals you have connected to your HDTV, you might
notice the channels change slower than you’re used to. This is perfectly normal. Digital
channels sometimes take longer to tune.

Viewing Devices Connected to Your TV
To view devices connected to your TV, press the INPUT button on your remote. If you
have a DVD player, for example, connected to the VID2 VIDEO jack, press INPUT until
VID2 appears at the bottom of the screen. Another way to view devices connected to your
TV is by using the Autotuning feature. Go to Chapter 3 of the User’s Guide for details.
Using the Universal Remote
ANT•CABLE
Program the SAT•CABLE, DVD, or AUX button to operate a different kind or brand
of device connected to your TV. Go to Chapter 2 of the User’s Guide for details on
programming the remote.
Changing the Screen Format
Your TV allows you to change the format of the picture you’re viewing by pressing the
FORMAT button on the remote. The format changes as you press the button and the
format type is displayed on-screen.
