Make your connection decision easier by taking a few minutes to review the jacks on your new product. Compare the jacks on the device you want to connect and see if the same jacks are available on your TV/DVD player. Then refer to the chart below to determine the best connection to make.

Remember: The Component (CVID) and the Composite (VID) jacks share the same R/L Audio jacks shown above.
Notes: Coaxial and Audio/Video output jacks can be found on the back panel of your product. The DVD DIGITAL AUDIO OUT jack can be
connected to an audio reciever. View this connection when in DVD mode. More information can be found in your User’s Guide.
If you aren’t getting a picture while using the component connection (above), check the connected device (for example, cable or satellite set top box). You need to change the setting on the device from progressive to interlaced (480i). Refer to the User’s Guide for more information.

Connect your TV/DVD player to cable; a cable box or satellite receiver; or an antenna in order to receive TV channels. Connect the cables as shown in the rst or second connection.
If you’re connecting a cable box or satellite receiver and it has Component jacks (Y Pb Pr), connect the cable box or satellite receiver to your product using the Component jacks (CVID) for a better connection.

First, make sure you have connected your TV/DVD player to any devices, connected a signal source,

Now, turn on the TV/DVD player and begin the setup.
Set the TV Menu Language. The default menu language is set to English. (The TV should already be in TV mode. If not, press the TV/DVD button). Press the TV MENU button, highlight Setup, then press OK. Go to Language and press the right arrow button to choose a language. Press TV MENU to return to the previous menu or press CLEAR to exit.
Set the Signal. From the Setup menu, highlight Auto Channel Search and press the right arrow button. Source Type is highlighted. Press the right arrow button to select Antenna or Cable. Press the down arrow button to highlight Start Search.
Search Channels. Press the right arrow or OK button to start the channel search. When searching for cable channels, this step can take some time. Your TV tunes to a channel once the search is complete. Go to the next step to delete unwanted channels, or go Step 3 Operate Your Product for more information.
• Deleting Channels. After running the channel search there might be channels you don’t want in the channel list. To delete a channel, press TV MENU, press the down arrow button to highlight Setup, and press OK. Highlight List & Labels and press OK. Select Channel and press the right arrow button to select the channel. Highlight In List and press the right arrow button to uncheck the box. Repeat to delete other unwanted channels. Press CLEAR to exit.
Remember: The DIG•ANA button switches between analog or digital TV channels. Analog channels are sent in a 4:3 (Standard) format. Most digital channels are sent in a 16:9 (Widescreen) format.

Using the Remote
The remote control contains buttons that are dual purpose depending on which function (TV or DVD) is being used. Use the TV/DVD button to switch between modes (i.e. TV mode or DVD mode). Green button labels indicate DVD functions.
Viewing Devices Connected to Your Product
To view devices connected to your TV/DVD player, use the INPUT button (on the remote or front panel) until the input name appears that matches the input of the device you connected. Your choices are FRNT (side input), VID (composite input), CVID (component input), DVD (DVD content), digital channel or analog channel.
Using the Menu Systems
To access the TV’s menu system, press the TV MENU button. To access the menus in the DVD player, press the DVD SETUP button. Press the TV/DVD button to switch between modes. Use the arrow buttons to navigate and the OK button to change selections.
Load and Play a Disc
• Press the TV/DVD button on the remote to make sure the unit is in the DVD mode.
• Press the SLEEP• (OPEN/CLOSE) button on the remote to open the disc tray. Place a disc gently into the tray with the disc’s label facing up (double-sided discs have content on both sides, so you can place either side up).
• Press the SLEEP• (OPEN/CLOSE) button again to close the disc tray. The player reads the disc’s table of contents. What happens next depends on how the disc was programmed.
