What is a Razer?

Unprecedented Sensitivity
The Razer Boomslang 1000
Functioning as high as 1000 dpi, its ultra sensitivity cracks the threshold
of responsiveness. Razer requires very little movement to cover a lot of
ground. Increase the sensitivity gradually as you grow accustomed to Razer's
feel; opponents will be flattened before they know what hit them.
The Razer Boomslang 2000
Just like the Boomslang 1000, only better. In fact, twice as sensitive.
Reaching up to 2000 dpi, it pushes the envelope of responsiveness to
extreme-sensitivity status. The question is: are you up for this kind of
sensitivity training?
Ambidextrous Ergo-Design
Levels the playing field for right and left-handed players. Razer is symmetric
al, and its even-handed design lets you configure either thumb button and
customize the remaining buttons. Back in the day, right-handed players had
the advantage; not anymore.
As for comfort, the Boomslang requires so little movement, there's a much
lower risk of developing repetitive stress conditions. Its heightened
sensitivity also translates into less wear & tear, as well as less frequent
cleaning.
Togg* Scroll Wheel-45 dots per rotation
Makes for awesome responsiveness. Cover more ground faster and more precisely
with 45 dpr-twice the precision of the standard mouse's 18 dpr.
On-The-Fly-Wheel*
Lets you switch sensitivity on the fly-in the heat of battle, or in the

PS/2 Fle x *
Available when using a PS/2 connection, this function lets you adjust the
polling rate-the speed at which the computer and your Razer Boomslang
communicate-from 10 to 200 Hz. Built into the Razer driver, PS/2 Flex has
been developed to give you real flexibility, and enough elbow room to adapt
to different equipment, games, and player capabilities.

Their rubberized surface prevents finger slippage, making it easier to be
cool under pressure.
6 MIPS
The Razer Boomslang operates at a blazing 6 mips (millions of instructions
per second) while the traditional mouse chugs along at about 1.5 mips.

USB with PS/2 adapter
InstallinG and ConnectinG
IMPORTANT: Be sure to install the driver before connecting Razer to the
computer port; if you're using a PS/2 connection, it's critical that the
computer be turned OFF when making that connection.
Turn on your computer. Insert the Razer Master Guide CD-ROM.
The Welcome screen will appear. Dutifully read it, then click NEXT.
Indicate whether you're using a USB or PS/2 connection. (You won't need to
reinstall the software should you change connections later; the software
works with either.) Click NEXT.
Select the Program Folder where the driver software will reside. Click NEXT.
Select the location for the Razer Menu. Click NEXT.
The Install screen appears. The software will load automatically; just click
NEXT.

A screen appears indicating that set up is complete. Click FINISH.
Once you've clicked FINISH:
USB
Your computer will restart. Plug the cord into the USB port at any time.
A window will appear giving you the option of registering electronically
right away or putting it off until later. If you choose later, find the
Register Your Razer link in your Razer menu or visit www.razerzone.com.
PS/2
Your computer will shut down.
Attach the PS/2 Adapter to the Razer cord and plug it into the computer's
PS/2 port.
Restart your computer.
A window will appear giving you the option of registering electronically
right away or putting it off until later. If you choose later, find the
Register Your Razer link in your Razer menu or visit www.razerzone.com.

Now that you've bought it, here's how to own it.
After installation, the Razer Customizer appears. There are a few
constants:
You'll always be able to go to www.razerzone.com for the latest tips and
information.
You'll always be able to update your driver software by clicking UPDATE.

You'll always be able to try a new setting by moving the pointer on any given
scale and clicking the spiral TEST AREA.
To change a setting, set it where you want it and click OK.
Or you can CANCEL an operation at any time; the Customizer will revert to
its most recent settings.
You'll always have the option to get HELP.
On-The-Fly-Wheel* SENSITIVITY
Sensitivity-Mark Your Progress
The Razer Boomslang has 19 programmed sensitivity settings, 1-10, including
all the .5s. Select your default preference-and we'd suggest starting at
the slower end of the range. As you get used to the Boomslang, your speed and
acuity will improve, and you can heighten the sensitivity as you progress.
On-the-fly Sensitivity
When switched ON, this function gives you the ability to change sensitivity
on-the-fly in the heat of battle, in the thick of a contest. Just hold the
thumb button while manipulating the Scroll Wheel.
The SHOW ON-SCREEN option tells Razer whether or not you want to see a small
display indicating the sensitivity range whenever you make changes
on-the-fly.
Double-Click Speed
As fast as you want it. Move the pointer up or down the scale, then
double-click the TEST AREA to try the selected speed.
Scroll Wheel Speed
Universal Scrolling
When switched ON, you have the ability to press the scroll wheel, which gives
it "universal scrolling"-a feature that lets you instantly scroll up and
down, side to side, without needing to click the Windows scroll arrows. It's
a shortcut that's ideal for Web browsing. To disable universal scrolling,
press the scroll wheel again.

Use it to get a read on either Scroll Wheel Speed or Universal Scrolling.

Are you right-handed or left-handed? Razer is designed to suit either.
Choosing your orientation activates the thumb button you'll be using,
disabling the other.
Button Assignment
The Razer Boomslang gives you the opportunity to customize each button
function or simply use its presets, which are:
First: Click
Second: Menu
Scroll Wheel: Universal Scrolling
Thumb: Double Click
Each button has macro ability adaptable to your favorite games'
commands. For example, assign a macro to make button 4 your "Jump"
function.
Ps/2 Flex*
Available when using a PS/2 connection, this function lets you adjust the

Cleaner Kills
The Razer Boomslang sports a patented dust barrier, but when cleaning does
become necessary, just remove and clean the ball, as well as Razer's rollers,
using a cotton swab, water, and alcohol.
