Memorycardsandchartcards

Usebrandedchartcardsandmemorycards
Whenarchivingdataorcreatinganelectronicchart card,Raymarinerecommendstheuseofquality brandedmemorycards.Somebrandsofmemory cardmaynotworkinyourunit.Pleasecontact customersupportforalistofrecommendedcards.
EMCinstallationguidelines
Raymarineequipmentandaccessoriesconformto theappropriateElectromagneticCompatibility(EMC) regulations,tominimizeelectromagneticinterference betweenequipmentandminimizetheeffectsuch interferencecouldhaveontheperformanceofyour system

Whenchoosingasuitablelocationforthedisplay youshouldaimtomaintainthemaximumpossible distancebetweenthedisplayandanycompasses. TheCOG/SOGlteraveragesthevelocityvectorsto compensatefortheoscillatingmotionofthevessel, givingaclearerindicationofthevessel’scourseand speed.
Thelterdoesnotaffectthecalculationofyour receiver’sreportedposition.Thevelocityvectors calculatedfromthesignalprovideaninstantaneous measureofspeedanddirectionofthereceiver.The COGandSOGcanthereforseemerraticunder certainconditions.Forexample,whenavesselis movingslowlythroughroughseas,thereceiver movesfromsidetosideaswellasinthedirection oftravel.
Slowmovingvessels,orvesselssailinginrough seaswillbenetfromahighsetting,whereasa powerboatthatcanquicklychangespeedand directionwillbenetfromalowsetting.
