Mounting and power connection of amplifier
Please mount and connect the amplifier very carefully! Please read first the safety notes very carefully!
Please mount the amplier to a safety and solid base with screws using the 4 mounting holes located at the sides of the amplifer.
Please connect the power input +12 V to the plus pole of the battery. An adequate fuse
must be inserted in the power cable (+) within a distance of 30 cm from the battery.
The fuse size is determined by all items connected to the battery (further amplifers etc.).
Operation elements and input signal connection
The XMA 650 is an 1 channel amplifier with high power output, adjustable lowpass filter and adjustable BASS BOOST .
The XMA 650 is able to receive 2 Channels connected using a LINE INPUT. The signal is transformed inside the amplifer to a 1 channel signal. Furthermore the 2 channel signal can be passed through to an additional amplifer using the LINE OUTPUT. Optional the signal can be received by the XMA 650 amplifer using a high level input (HIGH IN) connected to the speaker outputs of a Headunit.
Level (GAIN), cut off frequency of lowpass filter (LPF, 40 - 250 Hz) and bass boost (BOOST, 0 - +12 dB) can be adjusted. Please use the bass boost carefully. A boost of + 12 dB increases the power output of the amplifer several times. This can lead to a clipping of the amplifer output signal damaging possibly amplifer and speakers.
Connection of a speaker to the amplifier
The LINE input of the amplifier must be connected to the Line output of the headunit (radio). If the headunit is not equipped with line outputs, as an alternative the high level input (HIGH IN) of the amplifer can be connected to the speaker outputs of the headunit.
Please connect the GND terminal to the minus pole of the battery or to the bodywork of the car. A directly connection to the minus pole of the battery is recommended.
Then the REMOTE terminal can be connected to the remote output of the headunit (radio). Using this connection the amplifier will be switched on / off simultaneously with the headuint (radio).

The speaker (subwoofer) must be connected to the speaker terminal (plus to +, minus to )
Using
- .
the GAIN control the level can be adjusted to fit to the headunit or to another amplifier.
Attention! The impedanz of the speaker (subwoofer) must be 4 ohms or more!
The cut off frequenc of the speaker (subwoofer) can be adjusted using the lowpass filter control (LPF). The cut off frequency should be adjusted in a way, that the complete audio system gives a smooth and contineous sound without any gap or overplay (depp mal voice can be used to check this). It is possible, that a connection of the speaker (subwoofer) with reverse polarization will fit better to the other components of the audio system. This belongs to the subwoofer as well as to the other components (front system) of the audio system.
Using the Bass Boost low frequencies can be increased selectively (center at 40 Hz). The BOOST control can be used to adjust the level of the Bass Boost between 0 und + 12 dB.
Please use the Bass Boost carefully. An adjustment to + 12 dB increases the power output of the amplifer several times. This can lead to a clipping of the amplifer output signal possibly damaging amplifer and speakers.
