INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR
Trek-Guard KIT #252056 & 252057
1. Put (1) 5/16" dia. x 3/4" Lg. carriage bolt (item #4) into each slotted hole of straps (items #18 & #19). Slide
straps up through opening in bottom of rubber trim (item #17). NOTE: Longer strap (item #18) goes into
trim before shorter strap (item #19). Spray WD-40 into opening on back of trim. This will make insertion of
straps easier.
Attach trim to R.H. & L.H. upright assemblies (items #1 & #2). Use (5) 5/16" dia. nuts (item #8) on each
side to secure trim, as shown in diagram. TIGHTEN NUTS SECURELY.
2. Place uprights over bumper and align top mounting hole of upright over hole in top of bumper. Secure
uprights to top of bumper. Use (1) 1/2" dia. x 1-1/4" Lg. capscrew (item #7) with flatwasher, lockwasher
and nut (items #16, #15 & #10). Use (1) 3/8" dia. x 1" Lg. capscrew (item #6) with flatwasher, lockwasher
and nut (items #14, #13 & #9) to secure upright to bottom of bumper DO NOT TIGHTEN HARDWARE.
NOTE:
3. Attach pipe guard assembly (item #3) to uprights. Use (4) 5/16" dia. X 3/4" Lg. capscrews (item #5), with
Older model Trekker bumpers may not have required mounting holes. If not, refer to DETAIL "A"
and DETAIL "B". Mark required hole locations and drill holes as shown.
flatwashers and lockwashers, (items #11 & #12) through guard and into captive nuts in uprights (items #1
& #2). TIGHTEN ALL HARDWARE TO PROPER TORQUE VALUE.
