INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
For some models, it will be necessary to remove the plastic trim over the seat leg bolts. For 2008 and 2009 model year Taurus vehicles, the base installs under the seat legs. For 2010 and 2011 model year Taurus, use the supplied stand off kit to install the base on top of the seat frame legs as depicted below. This is also the case for the 2011 Flex. The longer bolts supplied in this kit will allow the base to clear the under seat air duct. Once trim is removed, store it for reinstallation should the no drill base be later removed.
Note that if you are going to use the supplied riser, pass the carriage bolts up through the base and use a small piece of tape on the round heads to hold them in place during installation. Once the base is in place, align the holes in the riser with the bolts and pass it down over them. Finish securing the riser in place with the supplied washers, nuts, and finish with the rubber nut caps.
2010-2011 Taurus and 2009-2011 Flex:
1. Using a 13MM socket, remove the seat leg bolts that hold the seat frame legs to the floor board.
2. Place the stand offs supplied over the holes in the seat frame legs.
3. Place the no drill base on top of the stand offs.
4. Pass the supplied longer bolts through the flat washers, through the no drill base, and through the stand off.
5. Start threading the bolt by hand. Once the bolt has been threaded into the floor pan several turns, finish securing the base into the vehicle with the socket wrench. Fully tighten. After a week of use, check seat leg bolts and re-tighten if necessary.
2008-2009 Taurus:
1. Using a 13MM socket, loosen the two front seat leg bolts just enough to allow enough space between the seat legs and the floor board to the no drill base will fit underneath.
2. One the bolts are loosened, gently lift the front of the passenger seat to create enough room to slide the base into place.
3. Align the slots in the base with the seat leg bolts. Push the base under the legs all the way back until the back of the slots rest against the seat leg bolts.
4. Fully tighten the seat leg bolts. Installation photo of 2010
Taurus. Above seat frame legs installation. 2008 and 2009 models will have the base placement under the seat frame legs using the factory bolts to secure base.
