Thunderbolt™ 3 Type-C™ Notebook DockingStation

The new Thunderbolt™ 3 Dual DisplayPort™ 1.4 DockingStation offers you the ability to be connected to
the most Thunderbolt™ 3 and USB Type-C™ DP Alt Mode compatible computers. When connected to a
Thunderbolt™ 3 computer, it supports two 4K@60 Hz displays and USB 3.1 (Gen 2) data throughput,
while connecting to a non-Thunderbolt™ 3 USB Type-C™ computer allows it to support two 2K@60 Hz
displays and USB 3.0 data throughput.
Additionally, it provides USB interfaces, a headset and Gigabit LAN interface through one Thunder­bolt™ 3 Type-C™ cable. Adopting Power Delivery charging technology, upstream charging function
through the Type-C™ host interface, you can charge the connected notebook at once. With the upstream
charging function through the Thunderbolt™ 3 Type-C™ interface, you can charge the host computer up
to 60 W with higher than 60 Watts power adapter or automatically adjust to lower charging power
with smaller power adapter. With the built-in USB 3.1 (Gen 2) ports, the docking station enables you to
enjoy the super speed data transmission between USB peripherals.

Requirements

• Thunderbolt™ 3 Type-C™ enabled Windows® / macOS® computer

• MFDP compatible, which means that it also supports the DisplayPort® Type-C™
Alternate Mode for two DisplayPort™ video signals at resolutions up to 1080p@60 Hz
and data transfer with up to 5 Gbit/s.

• DisplayPort™ enabled display(s) with cables as needed (for additional external displays)

• 4K-capable displays are required to achieve up to 3840x2160@30/60 Hz resolution (DP™ 1.4)

• To reach the maximum of the supported resolutions, your host computer must support
DisplayPort™ 1.4 via Thunderbolt™ 3 interface at least. Supports HBR3 (8.1 GHz), back­ward compatible with HBR2 (5.4 GHz) and HBR (2.7 GHz).

Starting up

2. Connect the Thunderbolt™ 3 Type-C™ to Type-C™ cable to the Thunderbolt™ 3 Type-C™ inter-

face of your computer and to the Thunderbolt™ 3 Type-C™ host interface of the dock.

You can also connect the DockingStation to a MFDP Alt Mode supported computer (non-Thunderbolt™ 3),
but with lower performance. When connected to a Thunderbolt™ 3 computer, it supports two 4K@60 Hz
displays and USB 3.1 (Gen 2) data throughput, while connecting to a non-Thunderbolt™ 3 USB Type-C™
computer allows it to support two 2K@60 Hz displays and USB 3.0 data throughput.

Configure a display device

Please set up your display settings according to your operating system and requirements.
For detailed information, see the corresponding operation manual and description of your operating
system.

Note: Video output capabilities are dependent on the video card and hardware specifications of your
connected host laptop. Certain video cards and operating systems have limited MST support, while
some monitors will also limit the available resolution.

Supported video resolutions

The docking station supports 4K/8K HD resolutions if the connected DisplayPort™ displays and the
graphic unit supports it.

Arrange your displays

Once the extra monitors are connected, they can be configured to either mirror mode, extend mode

Setting the right resolution and frequenzy of your displays

Two possibilities for select the resolution of the selected monitor:

1. Standard

- Identify your monitors by clicking the Identify button.

- Select the relevant monitor by clicking the identified monitor symbol

- Click on Display resolution

- Choose the right resolution from the drop-down menu. Reffer to the video matrix table!

- Click Keep changes to confirm and exit.

2. Advanced display settings

- Identify your monitors by clicking the Identify button.

Once the extra monitors are connected, they can be configured to mirror mode or extend mode.

- Click Arrangement

- Select the corresponding monitor symbol by clicking and holding on the symbol of the monitor to be

placed.

To set up scaled resolutions of the monitor displays, click the Display tab and then, in the opened
window of the respective display, set your desired views separately. Select the Scaled option and then
select the appropriate size in the field below.

Advanced display settings

Hold down the option key, click again on Scaled and an advanced menu for resolution settings and
repeat frequency settings opens.
Please select your preferred settings here.

Type-C™ Notebook DockingStation

Die neue Thunderbolt™ 3 Dual DisplayPort™ 1.4 DockingStation bietet Ihnen die Möglichkeit, an den
meisten Thunderbolt™ 3 und USB Type-C™ DP Alt Mode kompatiblen Computern verwendet zu werden.
Wenn sie mit einem Thunderbolt™ 3 Computer verbunden wird, unterstützt sie bis zu zwei 4K@60 Hz
Anzeigeeinheiten und eine USB 3.1 (Gen 2) Datenübertragungsrate, während der Anschluss an einen
Non-Thunderbolt™ 3 USB Type-C™-Computer (MFDP Alt Mode support) es ermöglicht, zwei 2K@60 Hz
Anzeigeeinheiten und bis zu USB 3.0 Datenübertragungsraten zu verwenden.
Dadurch können bis zu zwei zusätzliche Monitore angeschlossen werden, sowie externe Peripherie per
USB, Headset und Gigabit LAN. Gleichzeitig kann der Computer über die Host Type-C™ Schnittstelle
mit Strom versorgt werden.
Mit der Upstream-Ladefunktion über die USB Type-C™-Schnittstelle können Sie den Host-Computer mit
einem Netzteil mit mehr als 100 Watt Leistung mit bis zu 60 W aufladen oder sich mit einem kleineren

Inbetriebnahme

1. Verbinden Sie das Netzteil entsprechend

2. Schließen Sie das Thunderbolt™ 3 Type-C™ zu Type-C™ Kabel an einen unterstützten

Hostrechner an und anschließend an die Thunderbolt™ 3 Type-C™ Hostschnittstelle der
DockingStation.

Sie können die DockingStation auch an einen mit Type-C™ MFDP Alt Mode unterstützten Computer

Monitoreinrichtung

Zur optimalen Einstellung Ihrer Anzeigeeinheit gehen Sie bitte entsprechend Ihres Betriebssystems und
Ihrer Bedürfnisse vor. Genauere Informationen entnehmen Sie bitte dem Handbuch und Beschreibungen
ihres Betriebssystems.

Hinweis: Die Videoausgabemöglichkeiten hängen von der verwendeten Grafikkarte und weiteren
Hardwarespezifikationen des angeschlossenen Hostcomputers ab. Bestimmte Grafikkarten und Be­triebssysteme verfügen nur über eingeschränkte MST- oder Videounterstützung, während auch einige
Monitore nur geringere Auflösungen unterstützen.

Monitore anordnen

Sobald zusätzliche Monitore angeschlossen sind, können sie entweder auf den Spiegelmodus, den
Erweiterungsmodus oder die Einstellung der Primäranzeige konfiguriert werden.

z.B.: Erweiterung Ihrer Monitore

- Positionieren Sie die Maus an einer beliebigen Stelle auf dem Windows-Desktop

- Klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste und wählen Sie Anzeigeeinstellungen, um das Konfigura-

tionsfenster aufzurufen.

- Verwenden Sie den Abschnitt Anzeige

- Identifizieren Sie Ihre Monitore, indem Sie auf die Schaltfläche Identifizieren klicken.

- Wählen Sie den entsprechenden Monitor für die folgenden Einstellungen aus, indem Sie auf das

Symbol des identifizierten Monitors klicken

- Wählen Sie Mehrere Bildschirme > Desktop auf diese Anzeige erweitern, wenn Sie einen

Monitor erweitern möchten.

- Klicken Sie zum Bestätigen und Beenden auf Einstellungen Beibehalten.

- Sobald die Einstellungen abgeschlossen sind, ziehen Sie einfach die Monitorsymbole per Drag &

Drop, um Ihre Monitore anzuordnen. (Einige Anwendungen unterstützen jedoch möglicherweise nicht
die Anzeige auf dem erweiterten Desktop).

Einstellung der richtigen Auflösung und Frequenz Ihrer Anzeigen

Es bestehen zwei Möglichkeiten zur Auswahl der Auflösung des ausgewählten Monitors:

1. Standard Anzeigeeinstellungen

- Identifizieren Sie Ihre Monitore, indem Sie auf die Schaltfläche Identifizieren klicken.

- Wählen Sie den betreffenden Monitor durch Klicken auf das Symbol für den identifizierten Monitor aus.

- Klicken Sie auf Bildschirmauflösung

- Wählen Sie die richtige Auflösung aus dem Dropdown-Menü.

- Klicken Sie zum Bestätigen und Beenden auf Einstellungen Beibehalten.

2. Erweiterte Anzeigeeinstellungen

- Identifizieren Sie Ihre Monitore, indem Sie auf die Schaltfläche Identifizieren klicken.

- Klicken Sie auf Erweiterte Anzeigeeinstellungen

Eine neue Seite öffnet sich

- Wählen Sie den entsprechenden Monitor aus, indem Sie auf Anzeige auswählen klicken.

- Klicken Sie auf Adaptereigenschaften für Bildschirm X anzeigen

- Klicken Sie auf einen zulässigen Modus entsprechend der Videomatrix-Tabelle wie weiter oben gezeigt.

Monitors klicken und halten um die Anordnung vorzunehmen.

Um skalierte Auflösungen der Monitoranzeigen vorzunehmen, klicken Sie den Reiter Monitor und
können dann, in dem sich öffnenden Fenster der jeweiligen Anzeige, separat Ihre gewünschten An­sichten einstellen.

Wählen Sie die Option Skaliert und dann die entsprechende Größe im Feld darunter.

Detailliertere Einstellungen können Sie wie folgt vornnehmen.

Halten Sie die Option Taste gedrückt und klicken erneut auf Skaliert und ein erweitertes Menü zur
Einstellung von Auflösung und Wiederholfrequenz öffnet sich.
Wählen Sie hier bitte Ihre bevorzugten Einstellungen aus.
