1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Antis tatic ion izer is use d to remove overflow of plus ions mainly, minus ions from the
load as well and elements of balance and environment. Electric charges of air are
neutralized what give quasi-balance of plus and minus ions.
Unbalance of plus and minus ions in the air can cause unwanted electric influences
(attraction or repulsion) of elements which are in small distances to each other.
It is usual for non-conducting materials (plastic, glass). Some of the elements of balance
are made of plastic and glass. This problem can affect the balances. Usually this problem
appears as multiply repeatability error or as multiply error of indications.

3. BASIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

WARNING

Ionizer can be used as accessories for balances made by

Radwag. It is not permitted to use ionizer for other me chan isms.

Do not use ionizer in explosi ve hazard environment. The ionizer

is not adapter for explosive hazard environment.

The ionizer cannot be used in environment with:

• High humidity of air (acceptable 10 ÷ 80 %) ,

• Caustic vapours,

• High temperature (acceptable

0 ÷ 40 °C),

• Vibrations and shocks.

There cannot be any oil or water in place of ionizer using. The

room where ionizer is used should be ventilated properly.

If ionizer was kept in lower temperature than temperature of

place of its working the ionizer should be left for 2 hours until it

reaches temperature stabilization before it is used. In the other
case moisture condensation on ionizer can occur and as a result

electric shock.

Do not touch ions sources in case of danger of electric shock

(during the work) or danger of body damage (elements are very

sharp).

If any abnormality occurs during ionizer usage (smoke, smell of
overheating or burn), water or any foreign matter gets into ionizer

inside the ionizer should be switched off p

immediately.

Use the ionizer very carefully because of high voltage.

It is not allowed to dismantle, modify or use the ionizer in other

purpose that is appropriate for.

The ionizer can be wired only via original supply cable which is
ionizer accessories. Rated voltage (see data plate) should be the
same as power voltage.
The ionizer can be wired to the socket with bolt only.

If the ionizer is not used it should be switched off power supply.

Any repair should be made by Radwag service only.

ATTENTION

Damaged ionizer cannot be connected to power supply. It can

cause electric shock or fire.

It is not allowed to use ionizer in vehicles or outside. If any

damage occurs then no repair under guara ntee are made.

Pay attention that the ionizer become heated during normal work.

4. CONSTRUCTION OF IONIZER DJ-02 I DJ-03

There are two modules in ionizer construction:(see figure below):
1 – high voltage generator,

2 – ionizing frame.

5. UNPACKING

5.1. Unpacking

Unpack the ionizer and remove protective foams. Take the ionizer out off the box and
put it in place of usage very carefully.

6. STARTING

Air ionizer start up, requires plugging it to the mains and setting the main switch key to
position ON. The main switch key is located on housing of high voltage generator.
Switching on the air ionizer is signalled by a glowing diode of the main switch key.

6.1. Work modes

The ionizer can work with minus, plus polarization or with minus and plus polarization
alternately. In each of work modes intensity of ionization can be changed. Work
modes and intensity of ionization is presented on figure below:

- forward bias

- convertible polarization

- minus polarization

- max intensity of ionization

- medium intensity of ionization

- min intensitiy of ionization

7. MAINTENANCE, SERVICE, UTILIZATION

Maintenance, cleaning, service and utilization should be made no earlier than 5 minutes
after switching the ionizer off power supply.

7.1. Maintenance

Power adaptor cover and frame can be wiped with cloth and gentle alcohol detergent.

7.2. Service

Only service Radwag are allowed to open, repair and modificate construction of
ionizer. It is recommended to make technical check-up after 500hours of work and to
change ions sources after 10 000 hours of work.

7.3. Utilization

Utilization of ionizer and package must be processed in accordance with legal
regulations valid in a country where the ionizer is used.
