Moisture

Installing Batteries in the Remote Control
1. Press and slide the back cover to open the battery
compartment of the remote control.
2. Insert two AAA size batteries. Make sure the (+) and
( – ) ends of the batteries match the (+) and ( – ) ends
indicated in the battery compartment.
3. Close the battery compartment cover.
Handling the Batteries
• Improper or incorrect use of batteries may cause corrosion or battery leakage, which could
cause re, personal injury or damage to property.
• Only use the battery type indicated in this manual.
• When the batteries are exhausted, the remote will not function. Replace both batteries at
the same time with new ones.
• Do not install new batteries with used ones and do not mix dierent types of batteries.
• Do not dispose of used batteries as domestic waste. Dispose of them in accordance with
local regulations.
Handling the Remote Control
• Do not drop or cause impact to the remote control.
• Do not spill water or any liquid on the remote control.

Turning the Radio On for the First Time
1. Connecting the unit to any other power source may damage the unit. Unwind the
mains adapter cable to its full length. Connect the end of the cable to the DC Socket at
the rear of the unit and then connect the mains adapter to the mains socket. Make sure
the mains adapter is rmly inserted into the mains socket. The unit is now connected
and ready to use.

2. When your radio is connected to power, the unit will be in Standby mode.
3. Always unclip and extend the aerial when listening to
DAB or FM radio. The aerial has a swivel base so can be
set to dierent angles for best reception.
Extend the aerial before switching to DAB mode
for the rst time. This will ensure that the initial scan
captures all stations in your area.

perform the auto scan function. During the scan the
display will show “Scanning …” together with a slide
bar that indicates the progress of the scan and the
amount of stations that have been found so far.

found stations,

Basic Operation
Switching ON/OFF
Press ON/STANDBY on the unit or on the remote control to switch the unit between the
ON and STANDBY modes.
Remove the mains plug from the mains socket if you want to switch the unit o completely.
Selecting Modes
Press MODE on the unit or on the remote control to switch between DAB radio, FM radio,
Auxiliary Input and Bluetooth.
If the unit is idle for 15 minutes in Auxiliary Input mode, it will automatically switch to power
saving mode. Press ON/STANDBY on the unit or on the remote control to resume.
Adjusting the Volume
Turn VOLUME dial on the unit or press VOL + / – on the remote control to increase/
decrease the volume.
If you want to mute the sound, turn VOLUME
remote control. Turn VOLUME dial on the unit or press MUTE or VOL + / – on the remote
control to resume audio listening.

Automatically Setting the Clock
The clock can be set and updated automatically if you can receive DAB / FM signals in your
location. In order for the clock to synchronise to the current local time you must leave it on
one DAB / FM station for a short period of time.

Ensure the time and date is set before you can activate the alarm function.
Setting the Daily Timer
1. Ensure the unit is turned ON (not in STANDBY mode), press ALARM repeatedly on the
unit to select Alarm 1 Setup or Alarm 2 Setup, 1 and 2 will ash on the display. Press
SELECT on the unit or press OK on the remote control to conrm.
2. Turn the SCROLL dial to select Alarm On, then press SELECT on the unit or press OK
on the remote control to conrm. Otherwise select Alarm O to disable the alarm.
3. Turn the SCROLL dial to adjust the alarm time, then press SELECT on the unit or press
OK on the remote control to conrm.
4. Turn the SCROLL dial to select alarm duration (15/30/45/60/90 minutes), then press
SELECT on the unit or press OK on the remote control to conrm.

5. Turn the SCROLL dial to select DAB, FM or Buzz mode, then press SELECT on the unit or
press OK on the remote control to conrm.
If the wake-up mode is DAB and the DAB signal strength is low, the buzz alarm
will be triggered.
6. Turn the SCROLL dial to select alarm active day (Daily / Once / Weekends / Weekdays),
then press SELECT on the unit or press OK on the remote control to conrm.
7. Turn the SCROLL dial to adjust the alarm date, then press SELECT on the unit or press
OK on the remote control to conrm.
8. Turn the SCROLL dial to select alarm volume, then press SELECT on the unit or press
OK on the remote control to conrm.

secondary services available to that station. These secondary services contain extra

control until you nd the secondary service you want, then press SELECT on the unit or

Saving Preset Stations
You can store up to 10 of your favourite stations to the memory. This will enable you to
access your favourite stations quickly and easily.

DAB Display Modes
Every time you press INFO on the unit or on the remote control, the display will cycle

DLS (Dynamic Label Segment)
Dynamic label segment is a scrolling message that
the broadcaster may include with their transmissions.
The message usually includes information, such as
program details etc.

Signal Strength
The display will show a slide bar to indicate the signal
strength, the stronger the signal, the longer the bar
will be from left to right.
Programme Type
This describes the style of the programme that is
being broadcast.
Ensemble/Multiplex Name
A multiplex is a collection of radio stations that are
bundled and transmitted on one frequency. There
are national and local multiplexes. Local ones contain
stations that are specic to that area.
Frequency
The frequency of the present station will be
displayed.
DAB – unlike normal radio, groups together
several radio stations and transmits them on
one frequency.
Signal Error
The error is shown as a number. If the number is 0,
it means the signal received is error free and the
signal strength is strong. If the error rate is high, it
is recommended to reposition the radio aerial or
reposition the unit.

Auto Scan
While listening to an FM station, press SCAN on the unit or on the remote control to
perform auto scan. Once a station has been found, the scanning will stop automatically.
Manual Tune
To tune FM frequency manually, turn SCROLL dial on the unit or press on the remote
control until your desired frequency is reached.
Each turn will adjust the frequency by 0.05MHz. If reception is still poor, adjust the
position of the DAB/FM aerial or try moving the radio to another location.

AUX IN Operation
1. Before connecting to the mains socket, use the 3.5mm audio stereo cable (not
included) to connect to your external audio device through the AUX socket at the rear
of the unit.
• When connecting the external audio device, refer to the owner’s manual of the
external device, as well as this manual.
• Examples of external audio devices that can be connected to the unit are:
Portable MP3 Players, Cassette Players, Mini Disc Players, DVD players, etc.
2. Connect the mains cable to the mains socket. Press ON on the unit or on the remote
control to switch the unit on.
3. Press MODE on the unit or on the remote control repeatedly to select Auxiliary Input
mode.
4. In Auxiliary Input mode, you may operate your audio device directly for playback
features.
5. Turn VOLUME dial on the unit or press – VOL + on the remote control to increase/
decrease the volume.
6. When you have nished listening, turn o the power of the connected external audio
device. Press MODE on the unit or on the remote control to return to DAB or FM mode,
especially if wake up alarms are programmed.
Bluetooth® Operation
Pair the unit with a Bluetooth device to listen to music.
1. While in the ON mode, press MODE on the unit or on the remote control repeatedly to
select Bluetooth mode.
2. Activate your Bluetooth device and select the search mode.
3. “RNRDWH13E/RNRDWO13E” will appear on your Bluetooth device.
4. Select “RNRDWH13E/RNRDWO13E” and enter “0000” for the password if necessary.
“Device Connected” will display for successful connection.
5. In Bluetooth mode, you may operate your audio device directly for playback features.

I cannot find
“RNRDWH13E/RNRDWO13E”
on my Bluetooth device.
If any functional abnormality is encountered, unplug the unit from the mains socket and
reconnect it again.
• The unit may freeze up during use. Switch the unit
off and then on again to reset it.
• Electrical interference in your home can cause poor
reception. Move the unit away from them (especially
those with motors and transformers).
• Ensure the Bluetooth function is activated on your
Bluetooth device.
• Re-pair the unit with your Bluetooth device.
