DM-1 MIC SWITCHER
The Radial Hot Shot DM-1 is a combination microphone signal splitter and mute switch that
allows the vocalist to depress a footswitch to mute his mic and redirect the signal to the
monitoring system and/or intercom. This 100% passive fl oor-box is equipped with XLR mic input,
momentary footswitch, direct and switched XLR outputs.
The direct output (OUTPUT A) connects to the PA system as usual. The switched output
(OUTPUT B) connects to a spare channel on the monitor console. When the footswitch is
depressed, the Hot Shot switches the mic signal to OUTPUT B and allows a vocalist to use their
mic for confi dential communication through stage monitors, in-ear systems and intercom
systems. When the footswitch is released, normal operation resumes.
Compact and plug & play easy to use. The Radial the HotShot DM-1 is made from 14 gauge
steel for durability and is fi nished in a tough black enamel coat.

Using The Hotshot For On-stage Intercom
The system diagram below illustrates one way to use the Hotshot. Each vocal
microphone connects to a Hotshot mic input. The direct out from each Hotshot
(OUTPUT A) connects to the main snake system and is processed normally for FOH
and Monitor consoles. The switched out from the Hotshot (OUTPUT B) feeds a spare
channel on the monitor console. The strip is set to send the signal to each players
in-ear monitor. Adding a sub-mixer to combine the Hotshot outputs
reduces the number of inputs needed on the
monitor console to one.
