Portable Power Pack
Instructions
The Rescue Aero Model portable power packs are specially designed to
provide starting assistance to light aircraft and service vehicles commonly
used at airports served by FBO providers. Each of these power packs is
equipped with an SB type electrical connector which can be plugged into
a connector harness designed to t Piper-style receptacles, AN2551 3 pin
connectors or equipped with conventional jumper clamps that can connect
to battery terminals and vehicle grounds.

• Incorrect or mismatched voltage connections can damage the airplane, vehicle, or
portable power pack.
• Make sure that 12V systems are only connected to 12V power packs and 24V systems
are only connected to 24V power packs.

pack, or damage to your aircraft or vehicle.
2. Read owner’s manual before use.
3. Wear safety goggles whenever working around vehicle batteries.

• The Rescue 1220 should always be in the OFF position while making
connections to the aircraft or vehicle.
• Be sure that the Rescue 1220 is only connected to 12V electrical systems.
• Once connected, turn the power pack on and jump start the aircraft or
vehicle.
• Turn the power pack off and disconnect.
• Recharge anytime the power pack is below 11.5 volts.

unit, the operator can choose whether the aero
output is 12V or 24V.
• Note: Once the connection has been made
on the front of the Rescue 5020, the auxiliary
aero output is energized.

• Be sure to verify the voltage required for the
aircraft or vehicle being jump started. Selecting
the incorrect voltage can damage the

• Once connected, turn the power pack on and jump start the aircraft.
• Turn the power pack off and disconnect.
• Recharge anytime the power pack is below 23 volts.

Use your Rescue pack safely
• Always turn your portable power pack OFF when not in use
(Disconnect the voltage selector on the front of the Rescue 5020)
• Do not use the portable power pack if any cable clamp or cord
is damaged.
• Do not short circuit the unit. Don’t touch the clamps to any
conductive material.
• Always wrap the cables back into position and store the clamps properly.
• If your Rescue portable power pack requires service, follow the
directions in the warranty section. Do not attempt to repair the unit or
replace parts. Unauthorized repairs will void your warranty.
• Check vehicle battery terminals before using the power pack; clean
them if necessary.
• After approximately 10 seconds of continuous cranking, if the disabled
vehicle fails to start, stop and wait for 1 minute. This prevents damage
to your power pack and to your vehicle’s system from overheating.
• No lubrication is recommended or required.
• Avoid storing in direct sunlight, in extreme heat or cold, or very
moist areas.

warranty
The Manufacturer warrants this product against defects in material and workmanship for
one (1) year from the date of original retail purchase. Quick Cable will, at its option, repair
or replace defective units.
Quick Cable encourages you to register your product at www.quickcable.com/register and
to retain your original sales receipt with this manual for warranty purposes.
This warranty does not apply to the user-installed battery.
Damage caused by misuse or improper connections, failure to follow prescribed
operating instructions, impact damage, or negligence is not covered by this warranty. The
manufacturer reserves the right to inspect units for improper use in determining warranty
coverage.
EXCEPT FOR THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT
MADE AND SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTY OR REPRESENTATION
OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, DIRECT OR INDIRECT, INCLUDING BUT
NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, AND ANY
IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THIS LIMITED,
CONDITIONAL WARRANTY PROVIDES THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR ANY CLAIM
OR DAMAGE EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE REQUIRED BY LAW.
This warranty excludes and does not cover defects or failures of your PORTABLE POWER
PACK due to any cause other than defects in material or workmanship, including without
limitation any malfunctions or failures caused by repairs made by an unauthorized person,
mishandling, modifications, normal wear, improper storage and unreasonable use or
damage.
IN NO EVENT SHALL THE MANUFACTURER BE LIABLE FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR
INCIDENTAL DAMAGES. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental
or consequential damages so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary
from state to state.
Any claim relating to the Portable Power Pack must be submitted within one (1) year of
purchase and must be sent to Quick Cable in the U.S.A or Canada.

If any portion of this warranty or limitation of rights and remedies is found to be
unenforceable, then the remainder of this document shall remain in full force and effect.
