QUANTUM FAST CHARGER
(QB-34, QB-37, QT-47)
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Be sure to use the appropriate charger for your battery.
QB-34 FOR QUANTUM BATTERY 1/1+
QB-37 FOR QUANTUM BATTERY 2/2R
QT-47 FOR QUANTUM TURBO BATTERY
It is the nature of all lead acid or gell cells to charge rapidly to about 3/4 power, then slowly to 100% charge.
All "fast" chargers, regardless of make, require a long "topping off" time to charge from 3/4 to full charge.
The only exception would be an UNregulated charger or one capable of seriously overcharging a lead acid
battery if left connected even 20 minutes too long.
The QB-34, QB-37 & QT-47 are Regulated fast chargers, which will not overcharge the battery. A 45 minute
charge provides about 70% charge for emergency power, and another 1 hour 15 minutes delivers 95% power.
However, connect the QB-34, QB-37 or QT-47 for 2½ hours or longer whenever possible to bring your
Quantum Batteries to 100% charge level. This assures maximum battery power and extends your cells'
lifetime. However, we do not recommend charging for more than two days at a time.
HOW TO OPERATE
Connect the Fast Charger (QB-34 or QB-37) to either one of the two outputs (not the charge jack) out of the
Quantum Battery. Connect the QT-47 Fast Charger to the output of the Quantum Turbo Battery. Use the
correct model charger mentioned under 'Important Information".
Plug the Fast Charger into a household 120 volt AC outlet. The red pilot light of the Fast Charger will light.
Turn the Quantum Battery or Turbo Battery ON.
If the pilot light of the Fast Charger stays lit, push PRESS TO START. The pilot light indicates fast charging
when not lit.
In about one hour the pilot light will start to blink rapidly. In another hour the pilot light will stop blinking (or
blink once every 10 sec.) indicating full charge. Unplug the charger from the battery pack when not in use.
Please note - The recharge times indicated above will vary depending on how much energy was removed
from the battery prior to recharge.
These fast chargers are upgraded from previous versions and are suitable for use with all Quantum Batteries
1, 2, and Turbo models.

GRIPPER PLUG MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS (FOR QB-34)
Attached to one end of the flash module is Quantum's gripper plug. One of the important features of this plug
is that it can be locked onto the battery! This is achieved by a simple mechanical process. The gripper plug
eliminates the possibility of the plug becoming disconnected from the battery - at the worst possible time.
HOW TO USE:
1. Insert the module into the flash battery compartment as shown in the module instructions.
2. Before inserting the gripper plug into the Quantum Battery, loosen the shell until the locking fingers just
start to become hidden under the shell. Insert the plug into the battery output jack until it is firmly seated. If
you do not loosen the shell first, the plug will be difficult to insert into the battery (Fig. 1)
3. While holding the plug body, tighten the shell. It is not necessary to over-tighten the plug. Once you begin
to feel resistance when tightening, you'll only need to tighten it 1/8 of a turn more to lock the plug onto the
Quantum Battery. (Fig. 2)
4. To release the plug, loosen the shell about one turn and the plug can be disconnected from the battery.
