Warning !! Important !!
Do not connect any flash to FreeWire with sync voltage
above 25 volts. Ol der Vivitar 283 and some studio flash’s
have significantly higher sync voltages and s hould not be use d .
If you are unsure of your flash’s sync voltage, you may try this
test for the presence of high voltage:
1. Connect a sync cord to your flash and charge the flash.
2. Do not connect a camera to the other end of the sync cord.
3. Using an insulated screwdriver, touch both terminals of the
open end of the sync cord.
4. If you see a small spark at the sync term inals, do not
connect this flash to FreeWire (or any electronic
camera).
5. Note, the flash will fire when the screwdriver touches the
terminals, so shield your eyes to observe the spark.
Most flashes designed in the last 10-15 years do not employ
high voltage sync circuits.
