Precautions
Thank you for purchasing this HI-FI product. Taking time
to read these operating instructions carefully before use
will acquaint you fully with all its features and help
ensure optimum performance. In order to simplify the explanation illustrations may
sometimes differ from the originals.

The lighting flash with arrowhead symbol,
within an equilateral, is intended to alert the
user to the presence of uninsulated
“dangerous voltage” within the product’s
enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude
to constitute a risk of electric shock to
persons.
The exclamation point within an equilateral
triangle is intended to alert the user to the
presence of important operating and
maintenance (servicing) instructions in the
literature accompanying the appliance.
WARMING: To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not
expose this appliance to rain or moisture.
Power plug
When disconnecting the power cord from the
power outlet, always take hold of the plug,
and not the wire, and pull free. Never
connect or disconnect the power plug with
wet hands since you may receive an electric
shock.
Remember to disconnect the power plug
from the power outlet when you do not
intend to use the unit for a prolonged period
of time.
Do not remove the case and bottom panel
Any inspections or adjustments inside the
unit may lead to malfunctions and electric
shocks. Do not touch any of the inside parts.
Do not block the ventilation holes
Do not block the ventilation holes on the top
of the unit by placing records or other objects
over them. This will increase the inside
temperature may lead to a failure or
malfunction.
Installation precautions
Do not install the unit in any of the following
locations since this may result in
deterioration in performance of malfunction:
Locations exposed to direct sunlight or near objects
radiating heat such as heating appliances.
Locations exposed to moisture or humidity. Locations with poor ventilation exposed to dust and
dirt.
Locations which are unstable and not perfectly flat or
which are susceptible to vibration.
Do not wipe with thinners
Wipe the panels and case from time to time
with a soft cloth. Using any kind of thinner,
alcohol or volatile liquid will mar the surface,
cause blotching on the exterior and erase the
markings and should therefore be avoided.
Do not use insecticide sprays in the vicinity.
Dripping warning: The product shall not be
exposed to dripping or splashing and that no
objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall
be placed on the product.

Connections
Connection precautions
When connecting, either disconnect the power plug
from the power outlet or turn off the unit’s power
using the POWER switch.
Check the left and right channels and connect
properly (Left to L and Right to R).
Insert the plugs securely. Improper connection can
lead to the generation of noise.
Compact disc player
Connect the CD terminals to the OUTPUT terminals on
the compact disc player using the pin-plug cord.

CD terminals
These terminals have an electrical performance which is
equivalent to that of the CD terminals, which means that
they can be used as the audio output terminals for a video
disc player or TV tuner. Connect these terminals to the
OUTPUT terminals on the component using the pin-plug
cord.
Cassette Deck
Recording connections: Connect the TAPE REC
terminals to the input (LINE IN) terminals on the tape
deck using the pin-plug cord.
Playback connections: Connect the TAPE PLAY
terminals to the output (LINE OUT) terminals on the
cassette deck using the pin-plug cord.

Connections
PROCESSOR terminals
These terminals are used to connect a graphic equalizer or
sound processor.
Use pin-plug cords to connect the REC terminals to the
INPUT terminals on the selected component and also to
connect the PLAY terminals to its OUTPUT terminals.

Amplifier Operations
Mic Level Volume (6)
Adjust the microphone level by rotating the Mic Level Volume knob.
Mic Jack (8)
Insert Microphone plug here to enjoy karaoke or to record the voice message in the cassette tape.

Source Selection
Tuner (9)
Select the TUNER button if you want to connect to the TUNER terminals.
CD (10)
Select the CD button if you want to play compact disc from the CD terminals.
Tape ( 11)
Select the TAPE button if you want to connect to the cassette deck terminals.
Video (12)
This switch is pressed when you want to listen to the audio signal from the video equipment connected to the “Video 1”
terminal.
Aux (13)
This switch is pressed when you want to listen to the audio signal from the equipment connected to the “Aux” terminal.
Phono (14)
This switch is pressed when you want to listen to the records on the turntable connected to the PHONO terminals.
● Tone Control
Tone Control Treble Volume (15)
The treble sound is emphasized when the TREBLE knob is rotated clockwise from its center position while it is
attenuated when the knob is rotated anti-clockwise.
Tone Control Bass Volume (16)
The bass sound is emphasized when the BASS knob is rotated clockwise from its center position while it is attenuated
when the knob is rotated anti-clockwise.

Enable Alarm Function
Timer (20)
Timer 1 (32), Timer 2 (29), timer 3 (20), Timer Off (5)
1. Timer 1: The amplifier will automatically turn on at the preset time.
eg.) If TIMER lights up and it is set to “AM 7:00” then the amplifier will turn on at that time.

2. Timer 2: The amplifier will automatically turn off at the preset time.
eg.) I f TIMER lights up and it is set to “PM 10:30” then the amplifier will turn off at that time.

3. Timer 3: The amplifier will automatically turn on and off at the preset time.
eg.) If TIMER lights up , then the amplifier will turn on at “AM 7:00” and will turnoff at “PM 10:30”.

MIN (21)
In clock adjust or Timer adjust mode, when this button is pressed, the min can be calibrated.
HOUR (22)
In clock adjust or Timer adjust mode, when this button is pressed, the hour can be calibrated.
Set Clock (24)
The clock can be adjusted when this button is pressed in tuner mode.
Mute (25)
The Amp is mute when this button is pressed.
12/24 Hour Display (30)
The timer display can be toggled between 12 hour and 24 hour by using this button.
Set Timer (27)
The timer can be adjusted when this key is pressed in tuner mode.
Resume Balance (28)
When in adjust balance mode, it can be resume L/00 R/00 immediately when this button is pressed.
Timer Up (23)
This button can be used to adjust the clock and timer.
● Other Operation
Headphones Jack (17)
Connect the plug on the stereo headphones for private listening.
Adjust the volume so that it does not hurt your ears when using the headphones.
** Precaution! Reduce the Master Volume first
to protect your ears.
Speaker Selection (18)
a). Only Speaker A works if just pressing it’s button on
b). Only Speaker B works if just pressing it’s button on.
c). Speaker A + B work if these two button are on.

(▼) For decrease volume output.
(▲) For increase volume output.
When the maximum volume level is reached, display will show “MAX VOL” and vice versa for minimum
volume.
Once the Amplifier is switched off, the volume setting will be stored and remain unchanged by stepping up to the
volume level before the Amplifier turned off.
9. EQ
To set the Amplifier into system mode or non-system mode.
10. NUMBERING KEY
It can act as No. of songs for CD Player and No. of Channels of Tuner in non-system mode.
11. SET CLOCK
SET CLOCK function can be activated within the TUNER Mode. Switch into the TUNER Mode first by selecting
the source key TUNER. Then press the SET CLOCK button to perform this function. Once the SET CLOCK key
is pressed, display will show the current time. Press HOUR < or MIN > keys to adjust the HOUR or MIN. And
press the + - button to adjust the value
12. SET TIMER (ALARM)
Select the SET ALARM button to activate this function. Press this button once to activate TIMER 1 (Fig.). Use
the HOUR or MIN keys to adjust the HOUR or MIN and press + - key to adjust the value. Press the SET ALARM
button the second to activate TIMER 2 to set the desired alarm time.

Troubleshooting Guide
If you have a problem with your PA-3039, check this list for a possible solution before calling for service. If you cannot
solve the problem from the hints given here, or the unit has been physically damaged, call a qualified person, such as
your dealer for services.
Symptom Possible cause Action
The power cord plug is not completely
inserted.
● Confirm that the power cord plug is
connected completed.
No sound is heard when the power is
turned on.
Headphones are connected. ● Disconnected the headphones from
the headphones jack.
Sound is not heard from the speaker
system on one side.
The speaker connection wires are
disconnected.
The balance control is not set to the
center position.
● Check and correct the connections of
the speaker connection wires.
● Set the balance function until no
“BALANCE” indicator on display.
Sound stops during a performance, or
no sound is heard when the power is
turned on.
The protection circuitry has functioned
b
ecause the positive and negative
speaker connection wires are “shorted”
or speaker systems with an impedance
of the amplifier are used.
● Switch off the power, and, after
determining and correcting the cause,
switch on the power once more.
High-pitched noise (“howling”) is
heard while a microphone is being
used.
The microphone is being used too close
to the speakers.
● Use the microphone farther away
from the speakers or decrease the
volume level.
Cannot turn on power and “OVER
HEAT PROTECTION” is shown on the
display.
The amplifier outputs high power (over
10dB) to speaker system for a long
time.
● Wait for the temperature falls down
until clock is shown on the display.
Once clock is shown on display, you
can press standby.
